WARDOGS has surpassed two million copies sold less than five days after its Early Access debut on Steam. BULKHEAD and Team17 announced the new milestone after a particularly intense launch weekend for the 100-player tactical shooter, which on September 13 also reached an all-time high of 428,666 concurrent users on the Valve platform. The growth of the project was already evident before the release: WARDOGS had reached 100,000 wishlists on Steam just three days after the announcement, surpassing 500,000 in May and one million in August. The transition from wishlists to sales, however, seems to have been just as rapid, considering that in less than a month from reaching one million wishlists, over two million copies have been sold.
"Two million in less than five days is completely absurd," commented Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD, pointing out that not even the high expectations prior to launch had prepared the studio for similar numbers. However, the developer reiterated that WARDOGS remains a title in Early Access, with the team committed to collecting feedback, correcting problems and developing the next content together with the community.
The numbers recorded between September 10 and 14 also tell the amount of chaos produced on the battlefields: players totaled 122.2 million kills, 86.1 million headshots and 60.7 million revives, as well as 27.7 million heals, 4.6 million turrets captured and 212.8 million enemies detected. Overall, 188.9 billion experience points were also accumulated, along with 1.28 trillion virtual dollars earned. Curiously, however, it is not the most aggressive classes that dominate the progression. Support is currently the class that has generated the most XP, with 21.42% of the total, followed by Assault with 20.54% and Medic with 19.97%. Recon represents 18.66%, while Driver and Pilot stop at 10.57% and 8.70% respectively, highlighting how much teamwork is affecting the progression of players.

The result comes after a long testing phase conducted together with the community: almost half a million users had participated in the Closed Beta in August, while the last test before launch had reached a peak of 245,118 concurrent players on Steam. BULKHEAD has used the data collected to intervene mainly on performance and stability and will continue to follow the same approach throughout the Early Access. To celebrate the success, the studio is also organizing the WARDOGS $100K Clip Contest, an initiative dedicated to the best plays, the most spectacular failures and the most chaotic moments shared by the community.
With two million copies sold and over 428,000 concurrent players reached in a matter of days, WARDOGS thus signs one of the most impressive Early Access debuts of 2026 on Steam.
