EVE Vanguard opens its Alpha 24/7 in November, Steam Early Access postponed to 2027

Fenris Creations has announced that EVE Vanguard will enter a new phase of its development on November 10, 2026, when the FPS extraction-adventure linked to the EVE Online universe will open a paid Alpha accessible 24 hours a day on PC. This first persistent version will be available exclusively through EVE Launcher, thus overcoming the limited-time playtest structure used so far. The new Alpha also stems from the feedback collected during Operation Avalon, the test last July, and will introduce a completely revised initial path, three new maps, a more articulated weapon progression and further links to EVE Online activities. The long-term goal of Fenris Creations remains in fact to progressively transform Vanguard into a true sci-fi MMOFPS, expanding its persistent systems and integration with the events involving New Eden.

In EVE Vanguard, players take on the role of Warclones, technologically immortal soldiers sent to the hostile planets of New Eden to assault enemy installations, recover technologies and decide how much to risk before attempting extraction. Between missions you return to your Warbarge, where you can craft equipment, organize your arsenal and prepare your loadout for the next raid. The Alpha will introduce a revamped tutorial and a series of missions accompanied by narrative briefings, as well as a new Jobs Board from which you can accept shorter assignments in exchange for resources and rewards.

The already available settings will be joined by High Castle, Vorago and The Vault, three maps built around significantly different formulas. High Castle will offer high-security missions in which PvP damage will be disabled, while Vorago will take the Warclones into a huge low-security chasm, populated by both hostile forces and other players. The Vault will instead be the most openly competitive experience: three teams of three players will face each other within a PvP labyrinth whose layout will change between missions, trying to be the only team to extract the precious Weapon Cores necessary for the production of higher-level weapons.

The progression of the arsenal will also be expanded. Using a certain family of weapons repeatedly will allow you to obtain Weapon Telemetry, a resource through which you can access more powerful variants and expand the possibilities in building your loadout. Among the new weapons, the Gallente BR-60 Battle Rifle will also debut. Warclones will also receive a new suit, while the movement system will be improved through vaulting and mantling mechanics to overcome cover of different heights. Fenris Creations has also revised the interface dedicated to team formation, equipment, deployment and end-of-battle reports.

Particularly interesting will be the expansion of the link with EVE Online. Players will be able to enlist with one of the four empires of New Eden and complete tasks related to the progression of their Warclone. As the system evolves, missions and expeditions completed in Vanguard will also help generate War Effort for EVE Online's Factional Warfare campaigns, thus bringing the operations fought on the ground into the larger interstellar conflict of the MMO. The update will also bring changes to aiming, enemy behavior, healing and grenades, while further details on the features will be communicated in the coming weeks. Price and purchase methods of the paid Alpha will be announced closer to launch on November 10th.

Fenris Creations has simultaneously updated the programs for distribution on Steam: EVE Vanguard will arrive in Early Access in the third quarter of 2027, at which time the project will officially enter Beta. Before then, further temporary playtests are planned on Steam, while from November 10, 2026 the 24/7 persistent Alpha will remain available exclusively through EVE Launcher.

Lorenzo "WaR" Agonigi was born in the now too distant 1995 and already three years later, in 1998, he began his gaming career, with a flaming Nintendo 64. I have to be honest, I wasn't a pro gamer right from the start, so much so that my first experiences more than as a gamer were as a spectator: while my parents, in turn, played, I enjoyed watching them (hey, I invented Twitch ten years in advance!!).
