The Pokémon Company International has released 30th Anniversary, the new expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game created to celebrate thirty years of the franchise. The set is available from September 16, 2026 at authorized retailers worldwide, with some possible variations in the release date depending on the country or region. The peculiarity of the expansion is immediately evident: all the cards present are holographic. 30th Anniversary also introduces the new "rare Futuristic" rarity, characterized by illustrations signed by the Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN and dedicated to Pokémon represented at different times of the day and night. In addition to these, there are 30 classic cards from the history of the Pokémon TCG, re-proposed for the occasion.
The big protagonist of the packs will inevitably be Pikachu. In fact, every single booster of the expansion contains one of the 30 rare Pikachu cards made for the anniversary, transforming the mascot of the series into one of the central elements of the entire collection.
The launch is accompanied by several dedicated products. The Elite Trainer Set includes nine booster packs, a rare Nidorina illustration promo card, and various accessories, while the Poster Collection features three booster packs, promos for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and a double-sided poster. The Sticker Collection includes a holographic promo of Exeggutor from Alola or Lucario with its sticker sheet, while the Pokémon-ex Collections and Collector's Boxes revolve around Sylveon-ex and Greninja-ex. Additional products related to the set will arrive during 2026.
30th Anniversary also debuts in Pokémon TCG Live on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows at the same time. By logging in, players will be able to receive a set of themed accessories and a Battle Pass deck built around Mew-ex, while as they continue to play, players will be able to unlock a second deck starring Sylveon-ex.
With holo-only cards, a new rarity, the return of 30 historical cards, and 30 different Pikachu to find, the 30th Anniversary expansion is available today, September 16, 2026, both physically and digitally through Pokémon TCG Live.
