Screen Stocks turns day trading into a video game: demo available on Steam

Screen Stocks received a playable demo on Steam, allowing you to experience a particular videogame interpretation of day trading without risk. Developed by Conradical Games and published by Oro Interactive, the title is an online multiplayer built around a simulated stock market in real time, shared by all players.

The goal is of course to accumulate as much wealth as possible through buying, selling and short selling of securities, but the multiplayer nature makes the market much less predictable than it may seem. In fact, everyone operates in the same environment and a large position opened by a player, as well as a sudden sale, can contribute to quickly moving the value of a stock. Reading charts and swings therefore becomes only part of the strategy: it will be possible to collaborate with other traders or try to anticipate and exploit their moves.

There will be numerous stocks available, with new stocks that will be progressively unlocked by leveling up and completing achievements. In fact, the financial simulation is accompanied by a clicker game structure, through which you can improve your basic income, increase dividends and increase the volume of shares that can be purchased. Progression also allows you to obtain new skills, including automatic actions and higher offline returns. Once a certain level of progression has been reached, Go Public comes into play, a prestige system that allows you to restart by resetting the virtual account but keeping better initial statistics for the next run. To complete the progression system we find numerous skins with which to customize your workstation. The approach to the interface is also particular: Screen Stocks can normally be played in full screen or reduced to a corner of the desktop, continuing to buy, sell and short stocks while carrying out other activities at the PC. A solution that goes well with the clicker component and the possibility of obtaining progression even offline.

The Screen Stocks demo is available on Steam, already offering a first glimpse of its combination of simulated trading, shared multiplayer market, and incremental progression.

Lorenzo "WaR" Agonigi was born in the now too distant 1995 and already three years later, in 1998, he began his gaming career, with a flaming Nintendo 64. I have to be honest, I wasn't a pro gamer right from the start, so much so that my first experiences more than as a gamer were as a spectator: while my parents, in turn, played, I enjoyed watching them (hey, I invented Twitch ten years in advance!!).
