4A Games has announced the release date of METRO 2039, the new chapter of the famous post-apocalyptic saga: the game will be available from February 4, 2027 simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement came during PlayStation's State of Play, accompanied by new gameplay sequences recorded on PlayStation 5 Pro in 4K and 60 FPS with ray tracing. The new trailer uses the same campaign content shown at Gamescom and allows you to take a closer look at combat, environments and gameplay, as well as the technological advances made on the 4A Engine since METRO Exodus, released in 2019. It was precisely the technical sector that had recently allowed METRO 2039 to win the "Best Visuals" award at the gamescom awards, where the title had also received more nominations than any other game present at the event.

Particular attention has been paid to performance on consoles. At launch , a Performance mode will be available with 4K, 60 FPS and ray tracing on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X. 4A Games has not yet illustrated all the planned graphic configurations and has confirmed that more details on the technical specifications will be communicated in the coming months. METRO 2039 will take players back to the heart of post-apocalyptic Moscow, telling a new conflict for the fate of Metro through an exclusively single player campaign. The formula will continue to combine exploration, survival, combat and stealth mechanics, maintaining the strong narrative cut that characterized the previous chapters of the series.
The game can already be added to the wishlist on the PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic Games Storestores, while pre-orders will open later this year. A Collector's Edition containing a wearable replica of the Spartan Helmet has also been confirmed, for which it is already possible to express your interest.
METRO 2039 will be released on February 4, 2027, with the debut set for February 5 in some territories, including Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Development continues between Ukraine and Malta, with a significant part of the 4A Games team still operating in Ukrainian territory.
