Sandbox Interactive has released Dragonfire, the new big update to Albion Online, which introduces dragons to the free-to-play MMORPG sandbox for the first time. The update is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Android and iOS and brings with it a new region, new PvE and PvP activities, Ashborns and what the developers call the most demanding PvE challenge ever proposed in the game.

One of the main novelties is represented by the Ancient Lands, a completely new region reachable through portals that will appear in the world of Albion. Some will be intended for solo players and small groups, while others will allow access to teams of up to 20 players. Once through the portal, adventurers will reach a floating island where they will have to eliminate groups of enemies and retrieve the keys necessary to activate the teleporters to continue exploration. Progressing in the Ancient Lands it will be possible to reach four Drake Islands, where you can obtain chests and Waystone Fragments. The latter will be essential to unlock access to the Dragon Sanctuary, an endgame area designed to test even the most experienced fighters.
Right inside the sanctuary awaits Azaryon, the Fire Dragon, protagonist of the new PvE challenge that Sandbox Interactive presents as the most difficult in the history of Albion Online. However, defeating him will be able to reward players with a Drake Egg, to be bred until it is transformed into a Firewing Drake mount that can be used to traverse the game world. Dragons will not be confined to the Ancient Lands. In fact, the creatures will also be able to attack the open world, giving rise to spontaneous encounters in the Royal Continent accessible to the community and new high-level objectives for guilds in the Outlands. Dragonfire also introduces Ashborns, new opponents that will accompany players during the activities of the update.
To celebrate the release, Sandbox Interactive has also kicked off the Royal Hunt, a competition dedicated to content creators that will continue until October 12th. Participants will form guilds and will have to complete different missions, including of course the dragon hunt, obtaining rewards to distribute to their respective communities. The creators who achieve the best results will also receive physical Dragon Coins made of real silver.
Dragonfire is available today for free for Albion Online on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Android and iOS, expanding the endgame with Ancient Lands, Dragon Sanctuary and the arrival of dragons in the open world.
