During PlayStation's State of Play, SQUARE ENIX showed off a new trailer and gameplay insight into FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, finally confirming the release date. The final chapter of the remake project will arrive on April 8, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC, closing the journey that began with FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE. REVELATION will further expand the scale of the adventure, allowing you to freely explore the planet aboard the Highwind or riding Pico, the chocobo that will grow with the group and progressively acquire new exploration and combat capabilities. It will also be possible to freely change the controlled character and the composition of the party during exploration, while a new grappling hook will allow you to quickly reach rooftops and elevated areas. Even some missions can be entrusted to different members of the group, a choice destined to influence the development of certain events and narrative scenarios.

The hybrid combat system of the previous chapters will return further refined, this time with Cid and Vincent fully playable. One of the main novelties will be the FITS system, through which characters will be able to take on specialized roles such as warrior, knight, black mage and summoner, obtaining new skills and further increasing their potential. The gameplay shown during the State of Play offered a first example of the system applied to Cid in the role of knight and Vincent in that of summoner.
Narratively, FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION will resume the events with Cloud and his companions grappling with a planet that is now close to annihilation. The group, still marked by the loss of a precious ally, will have to stop Sephiroth as he gets closer and closer to the condition of god. Aboard the Highwind, a race against time will begin to prevent Meteor from causing the destruction of the planet and finally bring the fight with Sephiroth to an end.
