KONAMI has announced PROJECT ZIRCON, a new strategic roguelike deck-building where every decision can change the fate of an entire nation. The game will combine deckbuilding, kingdom management, and narrative choices, with different events and strategies in each playthrough designed to make each new campaign different from the last. The world of PROJECT ZIRCON has been plunged into chaos after the return of the legendary Calamity Dragon of the Abyss. Players will take on the role of a ruler called upon to lead their nation through an escalating global crisis, while simultaneously trying to strengthen the kingdom and prepare it for the confront of the threat looming over the world.
The gameplay will be marked by the alternation between phases of Strategy and Management, during which it will be necessary to use your cards to respond to events, develop the nation and face new threats. The deck will have to be continuously built and adapted to the circumstances, forcing you to find a balance between the most immediate needs and the consequences that certain decisions could have in the long run. In fact, the choices will also have a direct weight on the narrative component: different decisions can radically change the course of events, open new paths and lead to multiple endings. Available cards, strategies adopted and story developments will also vary from one game to another, strengthening the roguelike structure of the experience.
The ultimate goal will be to prepare your kingdom to face the Catastrophic Dragon, while surviving the numerous crises that will test the player's ability to rule and adapt. KONAMI has not yet announced platforms and launch window for PROJECT ZIRCON, which will be announced later.
