Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has presented in detail the multiplayer section of ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, new chapter of the famous series of air fighting developed by Bandai Namco Aces. The game will debut 2 October 2026 PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S PC via Steam, while purchasers of the Deluxe Edition can start playing early access from 29 September. The new trailer "Online Overview" has shown a particularly articulated multiplayer section, characterized by cross-play between all platforms, progression and saving apart from the Campaign and above all from a Virtual airbase capable of hosting up to 100 players simultaneously. Each user will dress the shoes of a mercenary pilot represented by a customizable avatars, on which new cosmetic elements and rewards obtained by playing can be used.

At launch there will be two main multiplayer modes. Assalto Cooperativo will propose PvE clashes in which two teams consisting of four players will try to get the best score by completing missions against different enemies and goals. Co-Op War instead it will adopt a PvPvE structure, putting once again against the other two teams from four pilots, flanked this time by units controlled by artificial intelligence. The system will rotate around mechanics such as the "Guarantee Level" and the "Assi", with the victory assigned to the team able to total the highest overall score.
The multiplayer will also be able to access temporarily emergency special missions. The Scramble missions will see four players facing a dangerous AI-controlled squadron in intense air duels, while the Emergency Sortie will lead to battle until eight pilots against the giant super-arms that characterized the story of ACE COMBAT, allowing in some cases to relive famous boss fights of the series. There will also be limited-time PvP events, including traditional Team Deathmatch 4 against 4.
The Airbase will not only serve as a three-dimensional menu to access matches. Here you can use the matchmaking, organize your own fates, participate in theMilitary training up to four players or simply interact with the other drivers through the chat. Bandai Namco also included a game room in which to have fun with some of its arcade classics and a Jukebox dedicated to the game. most famous soundtracks of the ACE COMBAT saga.
By completing the missions you will also earn currency to spend in the supply shop and in the ACE COMBAT STORE to buy new aircraft, cosmetic elements, special upgrades and other objects. The progression will also allow to reach additional aerial bases, which will act as new multiplayer lobby, while for the owners of the ACE PASS online activities will contribute directly to its progression.
