The village of Saint-Mystère is ready to reopen its doors to aspiring investigators who over the years have become passionate about the famous saga of Professor Layton. Almost twenty years after its debut on Nintendo DS, the first chapter of the famous series is preparing to return in a completely renewed guise.
The news comes directly from Level-5 which, during Level-5 Vision 2026 II, announced the remake of Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Professor Layton and the Curious Village in English) with a dedicated trailer, showing a first overview of the title and, above all, how the studio is working to adapt the adventure to next-generation platforms.

The Japanese studio re-proposes the game with a revised graphic sector, in which the settings and scenes are characterized by a much higher level of detail, while still keeping intact the atmosphere and spirit of the original adventure. The animations adapt to the panoramic format of modern screens, with a visual rendering in high definition, while the character models have been completely recreated in 3D.
Recall that Professor Layton and the Land of Mysteries was released in 2008 on Nintendo DS and immediately entered the hearts of many fans of the puzzle-adventure genre. The story told the story of Hershel Layton and his young apprentice Luke in the village of Saint-Mystère, to shed light on the mystery of the Golden Apple, a precious hidden treasure of the noble family of Reinhold. Obviously, the only way to solve the intrigue was to try their hand at solving a long series of puzzles that tested the logical and intuitive skills of the players.
Recall that the remake of Professor Layton and the Curious Village will be published on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. At the moment, the official release date has not yet been communicated and the announcement reports a generic 2027. We just have to wait for further updates from Level-5.
