The space is about to get even more crowded and fun. During the official presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2, System Era Softworks e Devolver Digital announced STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions, a new title set in the Astroneer universe, arriving in 2026. This new co-op adventure promises to expand the beloved sandbox universe with a multiplayer experience focused on shared exploration and team-based play.

At the heart of the experience lies the ESS Starseeker, a persistent and continuously evolving space station serving as the operational base for all expeditions. Here, players will plan missions, upgrade equipment, and collaborate with other explorers before launching into new interplanetary adventures.
On board this “mobile hub”, shipments will transport players to various planets across different star systems, each with its own dangers and secrets to discover. Alien creatures, lethal flora, and mysterious forces will test the crew’s survival and cooperation. The objective? Complete planetary-scale missions, adapt to every new environment, and, for the curious, uncover a deeper story hidden behind the exploration.
Even though STARSEEKER is a completely new title, System Era wanted to reassure fans: the original Astroneer will continue to receive updates and support even after the launch of its “big brother”. The two games will coexist, offering two distinct experiences within the same narrative universe.
If Astroneer focused on personal discovery and creativity, Starseeker puts everything on cooperative play over a wide area and a more structured gameplay, while still leaving the player plenty of room for free exploration.
