The City of Dreams is set to open its doors to Nintendo players too. During today’s Nintendo Direct, CD PROJEKT RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be among the titles available at the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, marking the official debut of the sci-fi RPG giant on a Nintendo platform.

For the first time, Nintendo users will be able to step into the shoes of V, the cyber-enhanced mercenary, and explore the pulsating and dangerous streets of Night City in a version specifically designed for the new console. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will include both the base game and the expansion Phantom Liberty, in a complete package available in both digital and physical 64 GB disc formats.
This is not just a simple port. According to what Adam Badowski, Game Director at CD PROJEKT RED, has stated, the game has been optimised to fully exploit the Switch 2’s features. This means, beyond the ability to play on the go, players will also be able to immerse themselves in new control methods: motion sensors with the Joy-Con 2, assisted aiming via gyroscope, touch controls, and even a mouse-like control system using the right Joy-Con.
"It's the most cyberpunk way to play Cyberpunk 2077", said Badowski. And with the possibilities offered by the Switch 2, it seems the team wants to offer an experience that goes beyond a simple technical adaptation.
If Cyberpunk 2077 had so far been a prerogative of PC and high-end consoles, its arrival on Nintendo marks a significant change. It’s also a signal of how the Switch 2 seems ready to support AAA titles without drastic compromises.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Switch 2 will be playable entirely in portable, tabletop or TV mode, maintaining, the studio promises, all the narrative complexity, exploration freedom and gameplay intensity already seen on other platforms.
