Who are we?

Kotaworld is an independent digital publishing project dedicated to the world of video games, technology and interactive entertainment. Born from the passion for these sectors and the desire to tell them carefully, competence and continuity, always maintaining a critical and independent approach.

We operate as an online magazine through reviews, previews, news, interviews, editorials and insights aimed at a public interested not only in new releases, but also in creative processes, technologies and dynamics that characterize the video industry.

Behind Kotaworld opera an organized editorial, composed of members and collaborators with defined roles and responsibilities. We adopt internal procedures for content assignment, managing relationships with developers, publishers and PR agencies and using review copy, print codes and preview accesses.

Kotaworld is not a registered company and does not operate as a commercial activity. This does not change our approach to publishing work, which is based on seriousness, transparency, continuity and respect for readers, developers, publishers, agencies and partners with whom we collaborate.

Our editorial activity mainly includes:

• video games PC and console, from independent productions to AA and AAA titles;
• demo, build preview, closed beta, open beta and Early Access;
• post-launch updates, patch, roadmap, DLC and expansions;
• gaming hardware, peripherals and consumer technology;
• video industry, development and game design;
• interviews with developers, publishers and industry professionals;
• editorials, analysis and content of deepening.

Our goal is not to publish as many content as possible in the shortest possible time. We prefer to offer an independent editorial cover, contextualized and motivated, able to be accessible without renouncing the deepening and critical evaluation.

Review copy, print codes, preview accesses and PR materials

Kotaworld accept and currency review copy, print codes, preview codes, early access builds, distribution platform access, press kits and PR materials intended exclusively for publishing activities.

Depending on the product, the availability of the editorial staff and the relevance for our audience, the coverage may include:

• complete reviews;
• preview and preview;
• hands-on;
• news and articles of study;
• interviews;
• updates and follow-ups after launch;
• social or podcast content, when consistent with the product and with our editorial programming.

Receiving a review copy, code or any other print material is not a guarantee of publication. Each product is evaluated according to the editorial relevance, the availability of the editorial, the timing, the quality and stability of the build and the planning of the content.

Keys and accesses received are used exclusively for editorial purposes and can only be assigned to members or collaborators actually appointed by the editorial staff KotaWorld.

Check code and access requests

To protect developers, publishers, PR agencies and partners from unauthorized requests, Kotaworld adopts a precise procedure for sending requests for review copy, key and preview accesses.

The only official code requests, review copy, preview accesses or equivalent materials submitted directly by Kotaworld come exclusively from:

Any request from different addresses, personal accounts, social networks, Discords, messaging platforms or other channels should not be automatically considered an official request for Kotaworld.

A member or editor may be in charge of reviewing or following a certain product, but is not authorized to present itself on behalf of Kotaworld to request codes, key or access without the request being approved or forwarded through the official channels mentioned above.

In case a person declares to cooperate with Kotaworld and directly request a key, review copy or press access, so we ask developers, publishers and PR agencies do not proceed immediately with the sending and check the request in advance by contacting:This email address is being protected from spambots. If the request is legitimate, it will be confirmed directly through one of these addresses.

This procedure is intended to prevent impersonation, unauthorized requests and improper use of the name Kotaworld, while at the same time protecting our interlocutors and members of the editorial staff.

Editorial independence

Editorial independence is one of the fundamental principles of Kotaworld.

The availability of a review copy, a press code, a preview access or any other material provided by developers, publishers or PR agencies does not influence editorial judgment in any way.

The editorial staff:

• respects embargo, NDA and agreed guidelines for publication;
• indicates, when appropriate, the source of review copy, key, build preview or other materials received;
• does not accept compensation in exchange for reviews or positive reviews;
• does not guarantee favorable reviews in exchange for key, accesses or printing materials;
• maintains complete autonomy in the formulation of opinions, evaluations, votes and conclusions;
• does not allow publishers, developers or partners to prior approval of the content of a review.

Any relationship with PR agencies, publishers, developers or other industry operators is based on transparency, professional correctness, mutual respect and full editorial autonomy.

Embargo and publication time

When an embargo is communicated clearly before sending the material or accessing the build, Kotaworld is committed to strictly complying with date, time and conditions.

When possible, we try to publish reviews and previews near the most relevant embargo or launch window. However, we do not guarantee publication within a given date except for explicit agreements.

The timing can depend on:

• duration and complexity of the title;
• amount of content required for an appropriate evaluation;
• technical stability of the build;
• any bugs or problems that prevent correct evaluation;
• availability of the appointed editor;
• editorial programming of the magazine.

For live service productions, titles in Early Access or games characterized by an important support after launch, we can also predict a cover distributed over time, through updates, new evaluations, insights or follow-ups.

Requests for credit

Kotaworld can request accreditation for events, fairs, presentations, showcases, preview sessions, hands-on, digital meetings and appointments dedicated to the press in the video and technological field.

When necessary, we are available to provide useful elements to verify the request, including:

• official editorial contacts;
• role of the editor in charge;
• links to recent reviews and covers;
• references to the site and our official channels;
• editorial assignment for the event or product;
• further verification information on request.

Privacy, GDPR and data processing

Kotaworld processes personal data in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the legislation in force on the protection of personal data.

The site uses technical cookies necessary for its operation. Any analytical, advertising or third-party cookies are managed according to the applicable legislation and, when required, after user consent.

The personal data collected through the site is not transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
