ASUS Republic of Gamers today announced the new series of gaming smartphones ROG Phone 7 during the virtual event “For Those Who Dare”.
The series ROG Phone 7 includes models ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate and represents the last step in the evolution of the best gaming smartphone in the world. This futuristic-style smartphone - which features a new two-tone design - combines the game power of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with advanced thermal system GameCool 7 and the many optimizations registered ROG, to offer a truly breathtaking gaming experience and incredibly low energy consumption. The key to this energy efficiency is the new and revolutionary design of the rapid cycle steam chamber, which increases heat dissipation efficiency up to 168%, allowing the series ROG Phone 7 to run games at maximum speed while keeping low temperatures.
The speaker volume of the series ROG Phone 7 has been increased by 50%, thanks to collaboration with Dirty, and when you connect to the new AeroA Coolant 7, equipped with a powerful subwoofer, you get an amazing 2.1 channel sound.
The beautiful 165 Hz Samsung AMOLED display now has greatly increased the peak of brightness compared to the previous model. The unbeatable series ROG Phone 7 was designed not to compromise, exploiting the impressive power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from 3,2 GHz, which is 15% faster and 15% more energy efficient than the previous generation. To support this brute power there are up to 16 GB of RAM LPDDR5X to 8533 Mbps and up to 512 GB ROM UFS 4.0, twice faster than UFS 3.0. The ROG Phone 7 is also ready for WiFi 7 (802.11be) with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, offering channels up to 320 MHz, and the Multi-Link function that allows players to connect to different frequency bands at the same time.
Thank you Snapdragon Elite Gaming, ROG Phone 7 supports ray tracing with hardware acceleration. This means that, for supported games, players can enjoy hyperrealistic effects, especially on glossy surfaces, which add a new dimension to the gaming experience. All this power is further improved by the unmatched Armoury Crate, which offers players maximum control over performance and settings ROG Phone.
To keep up with the fastest actions, the series ROG Phone 7 leverages a 165 Hz Samsung AMOLED display with a Touch Sampling Rate of 720 Hz and color accuracy with Delta E <1, for unparalleled graphics. Brightness has also been increased to 1.500 nits, to facilitate use in outdoor environments. The quality of the images has been improved thanks to the collaboration with Pixelworks, leader in visual processing, achieving a precision of primacy colours. The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate also comes with ROG Vision, an exclusive matrix display that can be customized to make your smartphone even more unique. This creative function can show fantastic animations that can be activated by system events, such as charging status, incoming calls, activation of X mode and more. Energy efficiency without compromise
Minimizing energy consumption without compromising performance is not easy, the series ROG Phone 7 has managed to achieve an improvement of 15% regarding the energy efficiency offered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, thanks also to the new system GameCool 7, designed to cool the CPU from all directions. This system uses a three-level approach. For short sessions, think of the boron nitride (BN) thermal compound on one side of the CPU to reduce thermal throttling. The medium-term sessions are managed by the larger steam chamber and graphite sheets on the other side of the CPU. Finally, for the real marathons, theAeroA Coolant 7, with its fan positioned right above the CPU, it comes into play for active cooling based on IA, supported by a thermoelectric system with Peltier cell for additional cooling performance.
In ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, cooling is further improved thanks to the AeroActive Portal system, industry leader. This opening is automatically activated when the AeroActive Cooler cooling device is connected, directing a constant flow of cold air from the cooler to the cooling fins of the steam chamber. In this way the heat generated by the SoC is dissipated efficiently, with a remarkable increase in the performance of the game and battery life. When the AeroActive portal is activated, the thermal efficiency of the phone can increase up to 20%.
New Rapid Cycle Steam Chamber ROG Phone 7 has been completely redesigned. It is larger and uses a new technology within it. Instead of the usual pillar structures, there are special trident-shaped columns on the long edges of the room to improve efficiency. In addition, there are six return channels of the liquid that act as escape routes for the water that returns to the SoC ready for the next thermal cycle. High thermal efficiency graphite sheets ROG Phone 7 have been enlarged and remodeled to maximize heat transfer from motherboard and RF card.
Finally, the AeroActive Cooler 7 is equipped not only with a perfected fan with more blades for greater counterpression, but also with a Peltier thermoelectric system integrated for maximum cooling power. The revolutionary DualCool design allows you to have the back cooled by the Peltier system, while the air is directed on the phone screen, so as to maintain the correct temperature.
Game without compromise
Players have never experienced phones with such crystalline sound as the one in the series ROG Phone 7. I double front speaker 12 x 16 mm, with an actual volume greater than 50% compared to the past, they are assisted by the super-linear sub-woofer from 13 x 38 mm to five magnets present in the AeroActive 7, which improves the bass volume of 77% and offers a really unbeatable 2.1 audio in games or movies when the cooling device is connected. The development in collaboration with Dirac's audio experts ensures unparalleled sound quality.
From 3.5 mm headphone jack to space sound Dirac Virtuous for headphones, the series ROG Phone 7 is equipped with all the technology to have a full sound. Snapdragon Soundensures high-fidelity Bluetooth audio at very low latency.
There are many new software features that further improve the gaming experience. X Sense helps players detect key events on the screen, such as the appearance of a new important goal on the map or the approach of an enemy, with a pop-up notification. And if a player eliminates multiple opponents in one action, X Sense adds visual effects to celebrate. X Capture, on the other hand, is an artificial intelligence tool that automatically records the memorable moments of the battle, such as the elimination of an enemy or the victory of a game.
The renowned AirTrigger ultrasound controls offer players a control similar to the one on the console. They support a wide range of gestures, including Dual Action, Tap and Scores and Giroscopic Bet. There are also 10 motion controls and a linear X-axis engine that provides powerful tactile feedback, bringing players into the heart of the action. The Vibration Mapping feature also improves touch experience, providing an adjustable feedback for virtual buttons on the screen.
