Released in 2023, the monitor Philips Evnia 25M2N5200P is designed for those who want a high performance gaming monitor without having to invest a fortune (at the time of writing we are around 250€): While most Evnia monitors have hit the average or the most expensive range, the 25M2N5200P is in the economic range. His mighty 280Hz refresh rate associated with a resolution of 1080p allow on the one hand the attainment of sufficiently high frame rate in order to be able to use the frequency of updating of the monitor; on the other hand, to be able to associate to this panel a GPU not just to the last cry, in full consistency with what is the target audience of this device.

Design and connectivity
Like other products from the new Evnia brand, the 25M2N5200P monitor avoids the usual distinctive design elements typical of gaming products, opting for amore sober aesthetics. The thin frame, in an elegant dark grey, has a lower textured part with the Evnia logo gently engraved in a corner. For the rest we have a display from 24,5 inches, a vertical support that acts as the main hub and a V base, a HDMI cable, a DisplayPort and a USB A-B cable to feed the hub. On the back there are 4 USB ports, two of which for fast charging, 2 HDMI 2.0, a DisplayPort 1.4 and a 3.5 mm jack. Unfortunately no USB-C, but it is seen that the price point no longer allowed.
A monitor therefore boasting a minimalist design with straight lines, offering a clean and tidy look. Special positive note for geometric decorations on the back of the frame, I personally find them very fulfilling. Hidden cable management in the support further contributes to this aesthetic. Philips once again demonstrates his commitment to create pleasant working environments (or leisure) to the view but above all organized.
In addition, the monitor offers basic HDR support with certification VESA DisplayHDR 400, a 280 Hz update frequency IPS panel and adaptive synchronization technology AMD Free. With a 178-degree viewing angle, anti-reflective coating and extremely thin frames, this monitor offers an immersive gaming experience. Despite the average size, the feeling is that of a wider viewing area, ideal for desktops with limited space. The lower frame, slightly larger, houses a LED indicator for switching on and off, whose brightness can be adjusted through the monitor settings.
Benefits
The strength of this 1080p game monitor is the high refresh rate, which can reach 280 Hz with overclocking, and the GTG response time of 0.5 ms, rather than other premium features. The pixel density, which touches the 90 PPIs on a 25-inch screen, is suitable for gaming but not ideal for high resolution video editing or professional graphics work.
In the OSD menu of Evnia you can select between three levels of pixel acceleration. The quicker setting introduces a slight overshoot. However, the intermediate setting offers a clean, sharp and very fast experience. With a refresh rate of 280 Hz, only professional esports players may notice any shortcomings in terms of pixel speed or latency. This monitor is extremely responsive.
In the end it is a matter of accepting a compromise: Yes, 1080p means less details of the image. But it also means faster frame rate if you have excellent graphics cards. As for the performance of the HDR, it is an HDR 400 screen and this means that there is no local dimming. Basically, it is the most "basic" version of the HDR support.
By default, the monitor offers a pretty wide color range with 16.7 million colours, a 16:9 aspect ratio, sRGB technology and an already cited pixel density of 89.91 dpi. It has a wide range of settings that allow you to adjust brightness, contrast and color according to the displayed content. We didn't have to cuff more than much to find visual settings that would please us.
During the game, I didn't see any ghosting effect. Tests conducted with Eizo Monitor Test and Monitor Test Utility did not reveal dead pixels or distortions. Moreover, the response speed of 0.5 ms has been widely confirmed by test results.

In conclusion
The Philips Evnia 25M2N5200P monitor is an excellent choice for gamers looking for high performance without spending a fortune. Although it is in the economic range, this model does not disappoint, offering a refresh rate of 280 Hz and a 0.5 ms response time that guarantee a smooth and responsive gaming experience. The minimalist design with subtle frames and an elegant finish fits well into any environment, while the management of hidden cables and integrated door support offer a touch of convenience.
Despite 1080p resolution and basic HDR support do not reach the most advanced levels, the monitor behaves excellently in gaming thanks to its speed and AMD FreeSync technology. The pixel density and brightness and contrast adjustment options make this monitor versatile, although it is not ideal for professional graphics or high resolution video-editing applications. In summary, Evnia 25M2N5200P is a solid and well-balanced choice for those looking for high performance in gaming at an affordable price.
