In the course ofXbox Games Showcase, id Software has announced DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelations, the first great narrative expansion for the last chapter of the legendary saga shooter. The DLC will be available from 7 July and promises to introduce a new campaign full of brutal fighting, mysteries and unpublished game mechanics.

The story will resume with one Slayer wounded and betrayed, precipitated into a ruthless purgatory from which it seems impossible to escape. To find a way out he will face buried truths, survive new threats and hold an unlikely alliance with a mysterious character who could change the course of events. The main novelty on the gameplay front is represented by Launches in Chain, a new weapon designed to further expand the offensive possibilities of Slayer. According to id Software, this lethal addition will offer a completely unpublished combat system, rewarding more experienced players with greater mobility and new strategic opportunities during the fights. Revelations will also introduce new levels, characterized by more complex puzzles than those present in the main campaign, along with new demons to face and further hidden secrets within the universe of The Dark Ages.
The announcement DLC was also accompanied by the presentation of Ripatorium 3.0, a free update available for all game owners. This new version of the system will allow a deeper customization of challenges, improved code management and the ability to save and upload custom presets. Content won't stop here. Once the Revelation campaign is completed, the owners of the Premium Edition or Collector Bundle can access additional endgame content, including Three new maps, new demons and a selection of fully enhanced weapons. As for the price, who already owns the price Premium Edition, Collector Bundle or Digital Upgrade the basic game will receive DLC without additional costs. The owners of the standard edition can buy Revelations separately at the price of 19.99 euro, or upgrade to the Premium Edition for 34,99 euro.
The Dark Ages is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Game Pass, PlayStation 5 and Steam. With Revelations, id Software aims to further expand one of the most appreciated action experiences of the year, offering players a new dose of demonic chaos and high-speed massacres.
