Worms Rumble - The Review (PC - Steam)

Nintendo Direct has finally announced that Worms Rumble will be available on Microsoft (Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and, delightfully, also on Nintendo Switch from 23 June 2021.

Given this important news, the Team17 developers have given us the opportunity to try this title on Steam.

The big highlight? Multiplayer will be strictly cross-platform, so you’ll be able to compete across different platforms!

The modes currently available are: Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Last Team, and Last Worm. The last two are true Battle royale formats where the final surviving team or worm wins the match.

Necessarily, it must be specified that the "game mechanic" is not similar to that of the old and never-fading Worms. Matches will therefore not be turn-based but instead will appear in all respects as any 2D shooter.

A detail that has certainly struck us is the extensive personalisation of every aspect of the worm and its usable weapons. Each match won and/or lost earns points and rewards that allow you to enhance its appearance.

Are you so eager to unlock every single cosmetic?? Pull out the cash, and thousands of possible aspects are at your disposal. One more beautiful than the other.

The only flaw we encountered was the relatively small player base (the number of people playing this title). Personally, we noticed that the matchmaking load time is quite long, and we can easily spot bots (computer-managed artificial intelligence) instead of players. A shame for a title that, in our view, can still deliver big emotions whether played solo or with friends.

- Direttore di KotaWorld.it
Eugenio lives happily trapped between three decidedly different habitats: the classrooms of a Venetian high school, the seabed and digital worlds. Technology, on the other hand, entered his home long before any microscope: a father who was an irreducible NES player taught him that behind every video game there is an interesting world... and behind every computer there is almost certainly a problem to be solved.
