The game will arrive in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will include a deep and strongly narrative single-player campaign. Players will take on the role of a sky ace embroiled in an intense story, where identity, duty and personal sacrifice intertwine with the struggle to survive their homeland. Alongside the single-player mode, multiplayer modes dedicated to spectacular dogfights against friends and foes are also planned, with further details to be revealed in the coming months.
ACE COMBAT 8 continues the tradition of a saga that has always pushed the boundaries of the flight shooting genre. The opening sequences show real combat jets from around the world, inserted into scenarios characterized by volumetric clouds, finely detailed territories and dynamic weather conditions, which will directly influence flight and aerial combat. The cinematic sequences, some of which are playable in first person, promise an immersion level never seen before in the series.
The campaign is once again set in Strangereal, the fictional universe emblematic of ACE COMBAT. In this new conflict, the Federazione di Central Usea is occupied and its navy has been destroyed. Players enter the cockpit in the role of the Wings of Theve, a legendary ace whose name is tied to the capital of Theve and who represents a symbol of hope for the entire nation. Accompanied by three new pilots, they must face the Repubblica di Sotoa in a desperate counteroffensive to reclaim their homeland, carrying on their wings the hopes and future of millions of citizens.
Bandai Namco has confirmed that many more details will be shared before launch, including updates on multiplayer modes and additional gameplay features.
