SEGA Europe and The Creative Assembly have published today Thrones of Decay, the new DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER III. In a clash of ridges, worms and magic, this DLC introduces new content for the Empire, Nurgle and the Dwarfs, including legendary lords, battle units and campaign features. It also adds free content for anyone who owns the base game.

ELSPETH VON DRAKEN, THE MAGISTERIX CAVALCADRAGHI (EMPIRE)
Elspeth Von Draken, the Dark Lady of Nuln, is one of the most powerful Amethyst Wizards of this era. It is said that she is so permeated with magical power that she exists at the threshold between life and death.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Imperial Artillery School: as arsenals of the Empire, Wissenland and Nuln offer special upgrades for units and powerful abilities that can be unlocked in exchange for projects obtained from the same units by inflicting damage on the battlefield.
⦁ Morr’s Garden: a vigilant protector of the Empire, Elspeth establishes a limited number of these sacred sites within allied or neutral Imperial settlements, enabling instant travel to these locations at a cost and subject to a recharge time.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Riding her powerful Crimson Dragon, Elspeth is lethal in every aspect. She manipulates the battlefield at a distance using her innate Magic of the Death’s Knowledge abilities, then charges into enemy lines with her Dragon and her two-handed Pale Blade.
New units:
⦁ The ranks of the Empire have been bolstered by a selection of weapons such as the Marienburg Earthship, the Steam Cart with Rapid Fire Cannon, the Nuln Intrepid, the Hochland Muskets, the Black Rose Knights, the Master Engineer (Lord), the Engineer (Hero), and the indomitable Theodore Bruckner (Legendary Hero).
TAMURKHAN, THE LORD OF THE LARVES (NURGLE)
Tamurkhan is one of the greatest champions of Nurgle. A mindless Bruko inside the bloated, putrid corpse of a powerful Ogre Tyrant. His sole purpose: spread death and disease in the name of the Lord of Plague.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Capitribù di Tamurkhan: Tamurkhan must gather an unstoppable army that will bring Ruin to the world. Therefore, he embarks on a deadly journey to conquer and recruit powerful warlords from all the tribes of Chaos and Norsca, in order to strengthen the power of his faction.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Assaulting the battlefield atop his imposing Dragon-Scorpion and wielding a fearsome two-handed axe, Tamurkhan is a highly resilient and deadly warrior in combat. His ability, Larvae Lord’s Banquet, activates upon his death, dealing damage that drains the enemy’s health, forcing them to stay in the thick of the battle for a bit longer.
New units:
⦁ The swollen ranks of Nurgle ooze power with the addition of units such as Kayzk the Soaked (Legendary Hero), Nurgle’s Chaos Commander (Lord), Nurgle’s Chaos Sorcerer (Hero), the Plague Orcs, the Rot Knights, the Rot-Spiders, the Pestigor, and the Sickness Trolls.
Malakai Makaisson, the Engineer Who Unleashes (Nani)
Malakai Makaisson, a cold, cerebral blend of mind and muscle, was a member of the legendary Gilda degli Ingegneri before being expelled for causing a disaster. After losing his honour forever, he took the oath of the Sventratore with the sole purpose of seeking redemption through a dignified, bloody death.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Spirit of Grungni: Malakai Makaisson’s armies march in the shadow of the colossal machinery known as Spirit of Grungni, a legendary aircraft that the Sventratore engineer can enhance at any time to boost its effectiveness and even summon it into battle.
⦁ Malakai’s Adventures: while seeking the glorious death all Sventrators aspire to, Malakai Makaisson undertakes one dangerous mission after another to test his latest inventions in the most perilous battles he can provoke.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Malakai mainly serves the Nani as a ranged support lord, launching explosive grenades with the Brace Cluster Bomb, dismantling enemies with his pump-action rifle, and, if anyone gets too close, smashing them with an enormous wrench.
New units:
⦁ Engineering excellence meets the bold, bearded courage. The Dwarf lines are bolstered by Garagrim Pugnodiferro (Legendary Hero), Squartademoni (Lord), Sventradraghi (Hero), Cercamorte, Falciagoblin, Schiantatuoni, Archibugieri Spararancori and Pirati Sventratori.
A VARIETY OF DIABOLICAL FREE CONTENT
Along with Thrones of Decay, the 5.0 patch is arriving, featuring various free content, important gameplay improvements, and bug fixes, including the legendary Lord Epidemius, a Hero unit in the form of golden mage, a new campaign feature in the form of the Nemesis Crown, and updates to the campaign mechanics for the Empire, the Dwarves, and Nurgle.
