SEGA Europe and Creative Assembly have announced Thrones of Decay, the latest DLC pack for Total War: WARHAMMER III, the acclaimed strategy game, arriving this spring. In a clash of peaks, worms and machines, this DLC introduces new content for the Empire, Nurgle and the Dwarfs, including legendary lords, battle units and campaign features. It also adds free content for anyone who owns the base game.

ELSPETH VON DRAKEN, THE MAGISTERIX CAVALCADRAGHI (EMPIRE)
Elspeth Von Draken, the Dark Lady of Nuln, is one of the most powerful Amethyst Mages of this era. It is said that she is so permeated with magical power that she exists at the threshold between life and death.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Imperial Artillery School: as arsenals of the Empire, Wissenland and Nuln offer special upgrades for units and powerful abilities, which can be unlocked in exchange for projects obtained from the same units by inflicting damage on the battlefield.
⦁ Morr’s Garden: a vigilant protector of the Empire, Elspeth establishes a limited number of these sacred sites within the allied or neutral settlements of the Empire, enabling instant travel to these locations at a cost and subject to a recharge time.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Riding her powerful Crimson Dragon, Elspeth is lethal in every aspect. She manipulates the battlefield at a distance using her innate Magic of Death abilities, then charges into enemy lines with her Dragon and her two-handed Pale Blade.
New units:
⦁ The Imperium’s ranks have been bolstered by a selection of weapons such as the Marienburg Earthship, the Steam Cannon Carriage, the Nuln Intrepid, the Hochland Shotguns, the Black Rose Knights, the Master Engineer (Lord), the Engineer (Hero), and the indomitable Theodore Bruckner (Legendary Hero).
TAMURKHAN, THE LORD OF THE LARVES (NURGLE)
Tamurkhan is one of the greatest champions of Nurgle. A mindless Bruko inside the bloated, putrid corpse of a powerful Ogre Tyrant. His sole purpose: to spread death and disease in the name of the Lord of Plague.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Capitribù of Tamurkhan: Tamurkhan must gather an unstoppable army that will bring Ruin to the world. Therefore, he embarks on a mortal journey to conquer and recruit powerful warlords from all the tribes of Chaos and Norsca, in order to strengthen the power of his faction.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Assaulting the battlefield atop his imposing Dragon-Spider and wielding a formidable two-handed axe, Tamurkhan is a resilient and lethal combatant. His ability, Larve Lord’s Banquet, activates upon his death, dealing damage that drains the enemy’s health, forcing them to stay in the thick of the battle for a bit longer.
New units:
⦁ The swollen ranks of Nurgle ooze power with the addition of units such as Kayzk the Soaked (Legendary Hero), Nurgle’s Chaos Commander (Lord), Nurgle’s Chaos Sorcerer (Hero), the Plague Ogres, the Rot Knights, the Dragon-Spiders, the Pestigor, and the Snot Troll.
Malakai Makaisson, the Engineer Who Unleashes (Nani)
Malakai Makaisson, a contemptuous blend of brain and brawn, was a member of the legendary Gilda degli Ingegneri before being expelled for causing a disaster. After losing his honour forever, he took the oath of the Sventratore with the sole purpose of seeking redemption through a dignified and bloody death.
Features of the campaign:
⦁ Spirito di Grungni: the armies of Malakai Makaisson march in the shadow of the massive machine known as Spirito di Grungni, a legendary aircraft that the Sventratore ingegnere can enhance at any time to boost its effectiveness and even summon it into battle.
⦁ Malakai’s Adventures: while seeking the glorious death all Sventrators aspire to, Malakai Makaisson embarks on one dangerous mission after another to test his latest inventions in the most perilous battles he can provoke.
Combat gameplay style:
⦁ Malakai serves mainly the Nani as a ranged support, launching explosive grenades with the Brace Cluster Bomb, breaking enemies apart with his pump-action rifle, and, if anyone gets too close, smashing them with a massive wrench.
New units:
⦁ The engineering excellence meets the bearded courage. The Dwarf lines are bolstered by Garagrim Pugnodiferro (Legendary Hero), Squartademoni (Lord), Sventradraghi (Hero), Cercamorte, Falciagoblin, Schiantatuoni, Archibugieri Spararancori and Pirati Sventratori.
A VARIETY OF DIABOLICAL FREE CONTENT
Alongside Thrones of Decay, Patch 5.0 is arriving, featuring several free content items, important gameplay improvements, and bug fixes, including a legendary Lord yet to be revealed, an Hero unit, a new campaign feature in the form of a Nemesis Crown, and revised campaign content for the Empire, the Dwarves, and Nurgle.
