This new and engaging mode will be available at the launch of PlayStation VR2 on 22 February 2023 as a free DLC for all owners of the PlayStation 5 versions of Resident Evil Village or Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.
The VR Mode supports the entire campaign and takes the award-winning experience to new heights. A deeper and more gripping adventure awaits with PlayStation VR2, as Ethan Winters’ journey fully exploits the headset’s advanced features.
The VR Mode uses the 4K HDR display, eye-tracking and 3D audio to make Resident Evil Village more realistic and immersive than ever. Immerse yourself in the richly detailed atmosphere of the village in virtual reality, explore the ornate rooms of the Dimitrescu Castle, and prepare to encounter again the characters and creatures hiding within it.
Oltre to entering the world of Resident Evil Village with the PlayStation VR2 headset, players will be able to experience the surrounding environment in new ways using the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. The controllers represent Ethan’s famously rugged hands and enable intuitive in-game actions.
Players can raise their arms for comfort to protect themselves from enemies approaching too closely. The weapons also appear noticeably more realistic in VR Mode, with new game elements enhancing immersion, such as dual grips and natural movement controls for reloading firearms and wielding daggers.
