The VR Mode of Resident Evil Village enhances the intensity of the acclaimed eighth main title in the Resident Evil series. The DLC supports the entire campaign that follows Ethan Winters’ harrowing journey to save Rose, his kidnapped daughter. This adventure is more thrilling than ever in virtual reality, as the VR Mode of Resident Evil Village fully exploits the advanced features of PlayStation VR2 to transport players directly into the village.
Prepare yourself to see this world directly through Ethan’s eyes with extraordinary detail thanks to the HDR 4K display of the new headset and eye-tracking technology. The atmosphere is further enhanced by 3D audio effects that add depth to the environment and allow listeners to hear the horrors hiding around every corner

The experience is also noticeably more immersive with the PlayStation VR2 Sense functionality. The new controllers allow players to interact with their surroundings in a way never before possible, with natural movements that mirror Ethan’s on-screen actions. These intuitive inputs enable players to block enemy attacks by raising Ethan’s arms, reload weapons through realistic actions, and explore while holding a map. Players can also wield two weapons, store and retrieve items inside Ethan’s coat, and perform a series of other tactile gestures such as opening doors and treating wounds with medicine bottles.
The VR Mode in Resident Evil Village also includes a VR Tutorial and Shooting Range modes that allow players to try out the new VR gameplay systems and have a place to hone their skills.

Development of the VR Mode of Resident Evil 4 has also begun. This PlayStation VR2 content will be available as a free DLC for the eagerly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4. Stay tuned for more information. Resident Evil 4 is now available for pre-order ahead of its imminent release on 24 March 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
