Today Amazon Games has officially launched New World: Rise of the Angry Earth, the first paid expansion for the open-world role-playing game. In conjunction with the game's second anniversary, New World: Rise of the Angry Earth introduces mounts, progression, and a level cap increase to 65, a new piece of equipment rarity, a weapon, a transformed zone, a new end-game expedition, the Heartrune ability, and much more.
In Rise of the Angry Earth, the southern-eastern tip of Aeternum — previously known as First Light — has collapsed. Once a welcoming place for newcomers to Aeternum, the fields have been devastated by the fury of Artemide and the Angry Earth. No one knows for sure what happened to the people and villages that once inhabited the area, and a deadly barrier has prevented everyone, except the most daring, from attempting to find out. This abundance of earth powers has awakened the powerful Beast Lords, a new potential threat to the people of Aeternum, but with them comes also a gift: the secret to taming and riding animals.
New World: Rise of the Angry Earth includes:
- Riding - Players can summon and control horses, terrifying wolves, and lions to traverse Aeternum more quickly.
- A transformed zone - Elysian Wilds - A magical and mysterious landscape transformed by Artemide and the Angry Earth, featuring gorillas, mammoths and other beasts to fight.
- New weapon - Flail - A versatile one-handed weapon, the Flail can be used solo or with a shield. Thanks to a mix of melee combat, arcane magic and strong defenses, those who wield it can boost their group’s effectiveness without abandoning the offensive.
- New progression - Players can raise character levels up to 65 and Gear Score up to 700 with new attributes that help enhance builds. Commercial skills can be upgraded to level 250, with new items to collect, refine and craft.
- New expedition - The Savage Divide - Open to players level 60 and above, explorers track the Primordial Beast Lords in search of high-level rewards.
- New ability Heartrune - Primal Fury - Players can unleash their inner beast and deliver light and heavy unarmed attacks against enemies.
Players who already own New World can discover the next chapter of Aeternum for 29.99€. New players can purchase both the base game and the expansion for 69.99€ as part of the bundle New World: Elysian Edition.
