After years of anticipation and several delays, finally Witchbrook is real. The life sim by Chucklefish, set in a magical school with enchanting atmospheres and among the most anticipated titles in the indie scene, will arrive on 28 January 2027.
The announcement came alongside the Nintendo Indie World, together with a trailer showcasing new gameplay clips. In Witchbrook players assume the role of a young wizard or a young witch as they embark on their first steps in the world of magic and head to Mossport, a vibrant seaside town where their new adventure begins at the magic school Witchbrook College. The core of the experience is the school life: players attend lessons, complete assignments, and delve into subjects such as astrology, alchemy, tarot, and various magical rituals. Players must study diligently and perform at their best to pass exams, learn new spells, and progress academically until they achieve their coveted diploma.
But players don’t just have to study, since outside the classroom, Mossport’s town offers countless entertainment opportunities. You can make friends, develop romantic relationships with the various characters, each with their own personality, open a magical shop, or simply relax. You can also join seasonal events and sign up for fishing or birdwatching clubs, so activities are certainly plentiful!
Witchbrook gives ample space to personalisation, both of your character and the environments, as you can renovate and tend to a delightful woodland cottage surrounded by a small garden, turning it into your own home. Another particularly interesting aspect is the presence of the online multiplayer mode for up to four players, allowing you to share the adventure with friends.

The newly released Witchbrook trailer shows all of this, offering a close look at the daily lives of the students and glimpses of secondary activities, such as consulting books in the library, preparing salves and potions, and reading tarot cards, as well as a first glance at some of the magical creatures that populate the game world.
