Tom the Postgirl arrives 29 October

ARTE France and the independent studio Oopsie Daisies have announced that Tom the Postgirl will be available from 29 October 2026 on PC PC and Mac via Steam, as well as on Nintendo Switch. The narrative adventure promises to turn an apparently innocent activity like mail delivery into a concentrated set of grotesque situations, embarrassing secrets and dark humour, all accompanied by a graphic style reminiscent of children's illustrated books.

The protagonist of the experience will be Tom, a curious and mischievous postwoman, tasked with delivering parcels to the inhabitants of a picturesque village in which, naturally, no one is really what they seem. The problem is that Tom just can’t manage to do her own job and takes every opportunity to peek into houses, observe residents’ behaviour and discover what happens behind seemingly innocuous doors and windows. The village, in fact, hides a gallery of characters decidedly off the rails, including a narcissistic mayor, an orphanage that dangerously resembles a dog kennel and a couple of hippies armed with chainsaws. Every window, ajar door or crack in the wall could reveal new details about the residents’ private lives, encouraging players to explore the environments carefully and observe situations both absurd and unsettling.

On the gameplay front, Tom the Postgirl will offer a certain degree of freedom when it comes to delivering mail. Players can choose to behave like a diligent postwoman, sticking to their duties, or embrace curiosity and mischief, spying on neighbours, sabotaging the environment and spreading chaos. Available activities include destroying flowerbeds, damaging perfectly manicured hedges, and even stealing classic garden gnomes, all without losing the innocent expression of the protagonist. Animals populating the village — far from ordinary — will further enhance the surreal experience.Developers promise encounters with pigeon dealers in the cemetery, cowboy earthworms, and particularly grumpy squirrels, demonstrating that the strangeness of the game world extends far beyond its human inhabitants.

From an artistic standpoint, the title will use frame-by-frame animations and hand-drawn backgrounds combining the naive aesthetic of illustrated children's stories with decidedly more mature atmospheres. The same creators describe the result as a fusion between a children's book and an Adult Swim production, invoking the destructive absurdity of Thank Goodness You're Here! and the macabre humour of Dumb Ways to Die.

An important role will also be played by re-playability. Every new game will allow you to discover previously overlooked details, experimenting with behaviours that range from mildly mischievous to downright cheeky, in order to reveal all the secrets of the village. The presence of multiple endings, objectives, and unlockable profiles will provide further incentives to return to its streets, rewarding especially the most curious players and those least concerned with others’ privacy.

Tom the Postgirl will debut on 29 October 2026 on PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch, offering a narrative adventure that blends exploration, voyeurism and surreal comedy. A game in which delivering the mail will probably be the least interesting part of the day, especially when every neighbour seems to have something decidedly compromising to hide.

Lorenzo "WaR" Agonigi was born in the now too distant 1995 and already three years later, in 1998, he began his gaming career, with a flaming Nintendo 64. I have to be honest, I wasn't a pro gamer right from the start, so much so that my first experiences more than as a gamer were as a spectator: while my parents, in turn, played, I enjoyed watching them (hey, I invented Twitch ten years in advance!!).
