Nozomu Games and publisher Inner Pocket have announced the release of Burn With Me, a distinctive narrative deckbuilder now available today on PC via Steam. The game blends occult rituals, unsettling atmospheres and a mechanic that flips one of the genre's core principles: instead of simply building a stronger and stronger deck, players must accept permanently sacrificing their own cards to keep advancing. The adventure is set in the mysterious Arcane University, where a group of students becomes involved in six increasingly disturbing rituals, led by a professor fueled by a decidedly out-of-control passion. Each participant must confront their own fears, weaknesses and obsessions, until they summon a Personal Demon representing the darkest facets of their desires. The voices of the characters are provided by Alec Shea (Enderal: The Shards of Order), Sarah Nightingale (Dead by Daylight) and Diana Garnet (OPUS: Prism Peak).

On the gameplay front, Burn With Me presents a formula defined by the developers deck-burner, in which each chapter introduces new cards, synergies and mechanics capable of altering the experience's rules. Completing a ritual allows adding a card to your deck, but retaining it won't be easy: as difficulty increases, players will be forced to draw more and more frequently, and each draw will permanently destroy a random card from their hand. This system turns deck-building into a continuous management of losses, forcing players to consider not just which tools to acquire, but also how much they’re willing to sacrifice to overcome the next ritual. This choice intertwines directly with the game’s narrative themes, centered on personal obsession and the price each player is willing to pay to achieve what they desire.
The atmosphere focuses on a slow-burn narrative, inspired by the structure of folkloric tales and accompanied by a growing sense of unease. a narrative that burns slowly, inspired by the structure of folkloric tales and accompanied by a growing sense of unease. To contribute to the visual identity, we find hand-drawn illustrations and a surreal hand that accompanies the rituals, whose animations were created by referencing recordings of the developers' hand movements. There is also a collectible component, represented by a cursed bestiary containing 90 creatures and an equal number of secret illustrations unlockable, created by 44 guest artists. A collection of content that expands the occult fantasy of the adventure and provides further reasons to explore its six chapters.
Burn With Me is available today on PC via Steam, offering a distinctly unusual take on deckbuilding, in which the real challenge isn't merely about crafting the perfect deck, but more importantly learning to coexist with everything you're forced to lose.
