History leads players to the twin worlds ofLower and Celestial, two separate realities whose fragile balance is about to be broken. The protagonist Reid Hershel, along with her childhood friend Farah Oersted, sees his life changing radically after the encounter with a mysterious girl able to speak an unknown language. In an attempt to understand its identity, the two will discover the existence of Grand Fall, a cataclysm destined to provoke the collision between Lower and Celestia and to threaten the survival of both worlds.
On the front of the gameplay, Tales of Eternia Remastered will reproduce the beloved Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System, the real-time combat system that helped define the identity of the series. Players will be able to combine powerful Artes, exploit the skills of teammates and face frantic two-dimensional clashes while maintaining all the speed and dynamism that made the original title famous.
The remaster will also introduce numerous improvements to the quality of life. These include new target indicators to facilitate exploration, the ability to disable random encounters with enemies, a high-speed mode during automatic combat and different options designed to make adventure more accessible to both veterans and new players. One of the most interesting aspects concerns the possibility of alternating at any time the graphic and sound dress remastered with the original one. Fans can then choose whether to experience adventure with the new technical sector or rediscover the game exactly as it appeared at the time of its publication.
Tales of Eternia Remastered will be available from 16 October 2026 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
