Developed by RENGAME and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, the title marks the return of one of the most eccentric and beloved franchises in the video game world. Once again, players will help the little Prince rectify the disasters caused by the King of the Cosmos, who accidentally destroyed Earth. To restore order to the heavens, the Prince must roll his Katamari, the famous sphere that gathers everything in its path, collecting objects across eras and civilizations to recreate the starry sky.
Once Upon A Katamari expands the classic formula with a time-travel journey taking players from the Jurassic to the Ice Age, passing through feudal Japan and many other historical eras, in a kaleidoscope of colours and cosmic madness. The legendary series soundtrack returns with unforgettable tracks and new songs, accompanying the action with the signature surreal and joyful spirit of Katamari. Beyond the main campaign, the game introduces a new competitive multiplayer mode, KatamariBall, which supports both online multiplayer and offline matches against the CPU. In this mode, up to four players compete to roll the largest Katamari possible within a time limit, turning every collected object into valuable points. The game also offers new customisation options, including the ability to choose between the Prince and 68 different cousins, each customisable with unique colours, expressions and accessories. New power-ups are also included, such as a magnet that attracts all surrounding objects, to make every match even more frantic and fun.
Once Upon A Katamari is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
