In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players will take on the role of Rook, a fully customisable protagonist called to become the hero Thedas desperately needs. In an age where legends are born or destroyed, Rook must assemble a team of unique and courageous companions to face corrupted elven deities and save Thedas' future. The companion cast that will accompany Rook includes seven characters from legendary factions of the Dragon Age world: Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve and Taash. Each brings their own unique abilities and gear, along with personal motivations and complex stories that will further enrich the narrative and gameplay strategies.
John Epler, creative director of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, said: "We wanted to give you the chance to express yourselves in a world full of adventures and dangers. So, whether you’re a Warrior, Rogue or Mage, we can’t wait to see you gear up, gather your group and head out for another thrilling adventure in Thedas at Halloween."
Dragon Age: The Veilguard stands out as a character-driven RPG, offering a rich and dynamic narrative experience. Players will confront themes of love, loss, and complex choices, affecting not only their own story but also their relationships with the squad members. The choices made throughout the journey have a direct impact on the fate of each member of the Egida del Velo, the squad led by Rook.
