Last night, during Microsoft and Bethesda’s Developer_Direct event, the ZeniMax Online Studios team announced the 2023 ESO adventure, Shadow of Morrowind. The story of this year brings players back to Morrowind, allowing them to explore locations not seen in The Elder Scrolls since 1994. The adventure Shadow of Morrowind tells a compelling story through multiple content updates, starting with the dungeon DLC Scribes of Fate in March. The story continues with the Necrom chapter in June. And even more interestingly, the team revealed there will be a new playable class, the Arcanist, arriving with the Necrom chapter in June.
To begin the Shadow of Morrowind saga, the Scribes of Fate DLC will be released in March and will include two new four-player PvE dungeons: players will navigate through the mad followers of the Mora Scribes in the Scrivener’s Hall or face the temporal magic of Bal Sunnar.
After Scribes of Fate, The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom will release in June. The Necrom chapter offers 30 hours of new story content, immersing players in two extraordinary new zones in eastern Morrowind alongside two new companions. Beyond the new zones, Necrom arrives with one of the most requested features from the ESO community: the new playable class ArCANIST. The Arcanist is ESO’s seventh class and will introduce new and powerful abilities and mechanics tied to a Daedric prince in the realm of Oblivion.
