The developer of Killsquad, Novarama, has announced today that United 1944, their recently revealed FPS multiplayer that blends FPS, strategy and crafting, will host its first Closed Beta on Steam over the weekend from 19 to 21 May. The Closed Beta will be playable for 4 hours per day, giving players a preview of the game ahead of its full PC release by the end of the year.
In United 1944 you must form squads to capture bases in 16v16 battles across the theatres of the Second World War in North Africa, with additional maps such as France and Russia coming soon. This first beta will allow players to experience the thrilling 16 against 16 Domination mode, in which you must scavenge for resources, build weapons, locate enemy intelligence documents, establish outposts, and destroy all enemy bases.

It is already possible to request access to the beta on the Steam page for United 1944. Keep in mind that submitting a request does NOT guarantee access to the beta, as players will be selected randomly. Nevertheless, don’t worry: if you’re not selected this time, you’ll still have the opportunity to play in the future, as further beta tests will follow in the coming months.
Novarama has also revealed a brand new video for United 1944, in which the Game Director Dani Sanchez-Crespo traces the Player Journey, the various stages the player will face during the battle: exploration, conquest, consolidation, and final assault.

In United 1944, soldiers and civilians will fight together to hold out until the end. The Domination mode requires much more than being a good shooter, as you’ll need to work together to scavenge for supplies, fortify your base, defend outposts, and build your arsenal if you hope to win the final battle. Outpace your opponents by using the resources you’ve gathered to construct defensive walls, place mines, and block roads with barricades.

There are no predetermined classes in United 1944, so you’ll need to adapt your playstyle to the team’s needs through a skill tree during each match. Mix and match over 40 abilities across the skill trees for engineer, scout, designated marksman, explorer, and support roles. Become spies when night falls or snipers at the break of a new day. Maybe you’d prefer to stay out of the frontline and focus on crafting medicine to heal your teammates. Create your fighter to help turn the tide of war!
