NACON and the studio Cyanide have unveiled their collaboration with the Guida MICHELIN in a new trailer for Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator, ahead of the pre-order launch. The game lets you step into the shoes of a restaurant owner and strive for Michelin culinary awards by excelling in cooking, ingredient quality, and daily customer satisfaction.

In Chef Life, the player must ensure the quality of the ingredients and dishes served and manage the service effectively, while simultaneously overseeing their finances to ensure the restaurant thrives. To be selected by the MICHELIN Guide and earn one of its renowned culinary awards, the player must meet various criteria that will be assessed by an anonymous inspector, just as in real life.
The selection by the MICHELIN Guide is the first step toward the Star and the Bib Gourmand: to achieve it, the player must present a high-quality kitchen, reach a certain level in the game, and, above all, ensure the quality of their dishes during service so that customers are satisfied. The player can also choose the type of restaurant to work in: a bistro or a gourmet restaurant.
The official Bib Gourmand award is given to those who choose to run a restaurant at affordable prices, while still ensuring high-quality food, just as in real life. Customer loyalty is also a fundamental criterion for winning the award.
The player can then aim for the iconic Michelin Star and become a Michelin-starred restaurant. To achieve this, the player’s culinary excellence is evaluated based on various criteria, drawn from the same assessment elements that form the famous methodology of the anonymous inspectors of the Guide: the selection of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, expression of the chef’s personality in the dish, and consistency of the quality of the experience offered.
The Michelin Guide Awards are an annual event eagerly anticipated by French and international chefs. To stay as close as possible to reality, Chef Life gives players the chance to receive an official uniform and a matching plaque for every award won. It’s an opportunity to stand out even more thanks to the excellence of the restaurant and the personality of the cuisine.
Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 23, 2023.
