After the launch of the biggest update ever for New World, Brimstone Sands, the introduction of new Fresh Start servers, a refreshed onboarding experience for new players, and, until Tuesday 8 November, a 50% discount on Steam, it seems that player interest in Amazon’s MMORPG has once again reached high levels.
According to the Steamdb data, the title is generating numbers likely achieved only during its launch period, regularly surpassing the 100,000 concurrent players peak.
The credit seems to be entirely due to the update Brimstone Sands, released last month and which added a completely new area of the game, along with the Ennead Expedition and the new weapon Greatsword. It also introduced a complete overhaul of the early levels in New World, with a simplified story, an optimized mission flow and new mission mechanics.
The best way to experience how these early levels have changed is to join one of the new server Fresh Start, which allows players to completely restart their experience in New Woeld. It’s a great opportunity for new players and returning ones to try everything that has changed in the first year of life of the MMO.
