Everything you need to know before the release of LEGO 2K Drive

Ignite the engines! LEGO 2K Drive will launch worldwide next Friday 19 May 2023. Developed by Visual Concepts, LEGO 2K Drive evolves the iconic LEGO gaming experience with an expansive open world in which players can build their dream vehicles, drive anywhere, and become a LEGO racing legend. Get ready for the launch with a closer look at everything to be experienced in the world of Brickworld.

Four Modes to Explore

The four modes of LEGO 2K Drive offer a wide range of exploration opportunities in the open world and thrilling races.

• Story - Play alone or in co-op on split-screen as you journey from novice runner to famous champion, competing against a series of charismatic rivals with the hope of one day winning the coveted Astrocoppa. With every victory, climb the rankings to challenge the notorious Shadow Z.

• Cups - Experience the Cup Grand Prix mode, featuring a series of courses. After each race, you will earn points based on your finishing position, and those who accumulate the most points will claim the podium. There is a Grand Brix with a Cup for each biome of Mattonia.

• Race - Want to get into action as quickly as possible? Try the Race mode, where you can choose any route and driving license level (which determines overall speed and available abilities) to start driving right away.

• Minigames - The minigames have unique objectives that don’t rely on surpassing a checkpoint, and speed is not the only thing required to succeed. In Defence Minigames, you must destroy waves of marching robots to protect the targets, whereas in Rescue Minigames, you fight wandering groups of enemies and save helpless civilians.

Details on Multiplayer and Cross-play

Have fun driving with other players whether locally or online via the multiplayer mode in LEGO 2K Drive

• Local Play / Shared Screen - On all platforms, players can enjoy first-person driving action with a shared screen for two players. On Nintendo Switch, two players can also connect to play locally using two Nintendo Switch consoles on the same wireless connection.

• Play with Friends Online – Join other players through cross-play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The largest mode in Play with Friends is Shared World, where up to six players can join online and race simultaneously across the vast expanse of Mattonia. Play with Friends also allows you to determine who is the fastest driver in Cup and Race modes.

• Play with Everyone Online - Discover your standing relative to pilots worldwide in the online multiplayer mode Play with Everyone, including cross-play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. You’ll be matched with other pilots of similar skill level to compete in Cup or Race events. To ensure a safe and friendly environment, communication with other players will not be possible. Driving skill, vehicle selection, and personalisation are the only ways to express yourself.

Personalisation and Sharing

The Garage is where you will build and modify vehicles in LEGO 2K Drive. In the Garage, you can create the vehicles of your dreams, customising every brick. From the start, you’ll have access to hundreds of bricks to build with, sorted by type and category, with over 1,000 LEGO pieces available throughout the adventure. All LEGO 2K Drive vehicles have their own stats, including Maximum Speed, Acceleration, Maneuverability, Health, Combat Power, and Weight. The more bricks a vehicle contains, the heavier it becomes, affecting its Weight Class.

Each of the six Weight Classes, from Very Light to Enormous, has advantages and weaknesses; therefore, play and discover what works best for you. Every vehicle has been designed to ensure a balanced experience. A vehicle with particularly high stats in a specific area will be penalised in another. There are many customisation options for your creations, from the shapes of individual blocks to colour schemes, down to details like the horn and engine sound. Wheels can be replaced, the driver’s seat position can be changed, and you can add a personal touch to the vehicle with a sticker or a fun light-up element, and much more. After launch, players will also be able to share their customisations with friends and the online community.

LEGO 2K Drive Standard Edition will be available worldwide on 19 May 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders have begun on all platforms, and players who pre-order the Standard Edition or the Cross-Gen Standard Edition before launch day will receive the Amphibious Vehicle Pack (digital).

Biography

- Articolista di KotaWorld.it
You can describe the world of gaming in many ways, for me it remains a portal, a back door, something that you take to get out of the real world and stay a while to live great stories or fight amazing wars that for the luck of this Era we no longer find ourselves experiencing. The magic that surrounds some games has always filled me with emotions, the inevitability in Final Fantasy Crisis Core, the great campaigns of Age of Empires, the defeats to the sound of cannons in Sea of Thieves, the meters of land conquered with rivers of lead in Battlefield.
