Hogwarts Legacy becomes the Warner Bros. Games best-selling title at launch

Hogwarts Legacy, the open-world action RPG published by Warner Bros. Games under the label Portkey Games and developed by Avalanche Software, has surpassed all of the company’s previous launches to become its best-selling title in history, selling over 12 million units for $850 million in sales worldwide in the first two weeks of launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game has also set new streaming records, becoming the first single-player title on Twitch with a peak of 1.28 million viewers simultaneously.

Hogwarts Legacy is breaking every company record in terms of player engagement, having accumulated over 280 million hours of gameplay and recording higher fan engagement towards the franchise, with an increase of 300% in Wizarding World Digital traffic during the first 10 days of February.

“We are thrilled and proud to see the response to Hogwarts Legacy from gamers, new fans of the franchise entering the gaming world, and those who have had the chance to experience it at work around the globe,” said David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games. “Our development team at Avalanche has created an incredible experience, truly bringing to life the dream of fans to live at Hogwarts and in the Wizarding World, and our publishing teams have executed a launch campaign with global impact.”

Hogwarts Legacy tells an original story that places players at the heart of their own personal adventure in the magical world. Set in the 1800s, the title invites players to embark on an epic journey in the role of a fifth-year Hogwarts student or studentess who possesses the rare ability to tap into ancient, powerful magic. With the help of the Practical Magic Guide and the invaluable instruction received from professors and other characters, fans will discover an engaging plot filled with mysteries and thrilling challenges. The game was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label.

Biography

- Direttore di KotaWorld.it
Eugenio lives happily trapped between three decidedly different habitats: the classrooms of a Venetian high school, the seabed and digital worlds. Technology, on the other hand, entered his home long before any microscope: a father who was an irreducible NES player taught him that behind every video game there is an interesting world... and behind every computer there is almost certainly a problem to be solved.
