We spoke about it just yesterday dthe "Fire and Ice" event arriving on War Thunder, the PvP combat title featuring heavy vehicles from Gaijin Entertainment. Today the company celebrates the tenth anniversary of its online military action game. The open beta testing of War Thunder, which was the moment the game became available to everyone for the first time, was launched, think, on 1st November 2012. The contents and activities of the anniversary celebration include a festive hangar, anniversary discounts, special decals, vehicle decorators and camouflage, while the main surprise is the Sturmtiger SPG, a mobile assault mortar with rockets, which is a true legend among WWII military gear enthusiasts.

"Ten years is a long time for any online game and we are pleased that War Thunder's popularity has grown over the years", says Anton Yudintsev, co-founder of Gaijin Entertainment. "For example, compared to 2019, the average number of concurrent users on War Thunder has more than doubled".
Currently, the number of simultaneous War Thunder users regularly exceeds 160,000 people and, in total, more than 70 million players are registered in the game worldwide.
“We plan to improve all aspects of War Thunder, from graphics and interface to new interesting mechanics and game modes. Our plans include new technological trees, the most modern military vehicles, and other World War II projects. As usual, we won’t announce anything concrete until the new features or vehicles are actually ready, so I’ll skip the details. But we promise the next 10 years will be just as interesting!” - adds Vyacheslav Bulannikov, War Thunder producer.
So the developers’ future plans for their gem seem truly ambitious: War Thunder was born as an online WWII combat aviation simulator with a couple of hundred aircraft available at the start. Now War Thunder includes more than two thousand pieces of military equipment, including ground-armoured vehicles, small and large warships, and helicopters. In War Thunder, you can take the helm of battleships from both World Wars, then go to battle on the most modern tanks or anti-aircraft systems. War Thunder is the largest military vehicle simulator, covering over 100 years of design, production, and use.
