The tactical first-person shooter Six Days in Fallujah by Victura and Highwire has received its first new content, with the release of the update Wargame. With a new game mode: Wargame, along with weather cycles and times, night rockets, sandstorms, FUBAR (Hard) mode, and greater mission control thanks to procedural cursors, Six Days in Fallujah is the definitive simulation of combat uncertainty.
The latest update introduces several changes that alter the game, including:
- New mode: Wargame. The Wargame mode lets players customise mission parameters before loading them into the AO. Players can pick specific missions and roles, and also tweak a wide range of battlefield conditions, such as time of day, weather, building density, AI positioning, and more.
- Flares. A new rhythmic cycle of darkness and light during missions: rocket flares are launched into the sky, illuminating the operational area before fading slowly. Beware! Torches and flash bursts warn insurgents who may move against you in the dark.
- Sandstorm. The biggest threat is no longer the enemy AI, but reduced visibility caused by sand particles, dust, debris, and strong winds, which also interfere with communications. The intensity of the sandstorm depends on the procedural roll and can even penetrate the AO halfway through the mission.
- Difficulty: Hard (FUBAR). The most extreme conditions are now available as an option for every mission, increasing battle intensity. AI enemies execute complex strategies and behaviours. The "Survival Rules" prevent respawning from the AAV, and "No KIA Allowed" ends the mission when any member of your fire team is killed.
- Procedural cursors. Players can now adjust the timer duration, or remove it entirely, as well as increase or decrease building populations both inside and outside, changing mission dynamics from an internal hunt to a sparsely populated shootout.
