NC announced a Launch Scale Test of AION 2 for 17 and 18 September, a large-scale test designed mainly to put under pressure servers and infrastructure in view of the upcoming debut of the MORPG. The test will be open to all, without the need for keys, invitations or preventive recordings, and will allow to try a limited version of the game before access reserved to the owners of the Founder’s Pack, scheduled from September 30. The preload will be available from 15:00 Italian of 16 September to 15:00 of 17 September. The first session will take place on September 17 from 15:00 to 21:00, while the second session will be available on September 18 from 21:00 to 03:00 on September 19. Progress achieved during the first day will be maintained in the second, but at the end of the Launch Scale Test will be carried out a complete wipe and nothing will be transferred to the Advanced Access or the final version.
The test will impose several limitations on the full game, starting from a level cap fixed at 37, which will inevitably render inaccessible the activities destined to the higher levels. Marketplace will also be disabled, Quna exchange, player trade and Closet, while no purchase will be possible: store, pass, membership and payment systems will remain completely inactive. Items included in the Founder’s Pack will not be available during the test. A clarification concerns those who will participate through Steam: at the end of the test it will be necessary uninstall the Playtest application and download AION 2 separately to participate in the Advanced Access of 30 September. Users who use PURPLE will not have to do any more.
Made of Unreal Engine 5, AION 2 presents itself as a large-scale evolution of the original MORPG, with a world declared beyond 36 times larger than the first AION. The flight will return to being one of the fundamental elements of experience, this time integrating directly with combat: position, height, timing and character control will be decisive in three-dimensional clashes, moving away from a structure based exclusively on traditional rotations of skills. On the PvE front, NC promises over 200 dungeons and large-scale raid, flanked by Abyss and the permanent conflict between Elyos and Asmodians. Great attention will also be paid to character creation, with hundreds of customization options available to players.
The Launch Scale Test of AION 2 will be held on 17 and 18 September and will be freely accessible to all, while on September 30 the Advanced Access will kick off linked to the Founder’s Pack.
