The publisher The Arcade Crew and the solo developer Andrew Morrish, creator of Kingsway, have announced Bad House, a new adventure that blends autobattler mechanics, roguelike elements, and strategic management. The title will arrive on PC during 2027 and begins with a rather simple premise: you’ve just bought a house and the previous owner left behind some items now yours. The only advice is: don’t go down into the basement.

Naturally, it’s from there that Bad House begins. Beneath the house lies an enormous, constantly transforming dungeon, inhabited by creatures determined to prevent the protagonist from descending deeper. Before each expedition, players can choose their character and configure their abilities, preparing a build suited to the dangers awaiting in the lower levels. Fights will occur automatically, but the player must carefully prepare each battle by combining selected abilities with strategically placed items in the room. Bombs, spells, traps, and summonings can work together to eliminate enemies, turning preparation and synergies between different tools into the core of the combat system.
As you descend floor by floor, you’ll be able level up, enhance abilities and unlock new ones, while rewards will become progressively more valuable alongside the dangers. At this point, a risk-reward component comes into play: continue exploring in hopes of obtaining better loot, or return to the surface before it’s too late. Once you manage to escape the basement, the collected loot can be safely stored in the main floor of the house. Naturally, it remains to be discovered what truly lies hidden in the building’s depths, as the basement continues to change and how deep it actually is. Between horror atmospheres and a structure that seems to constantly play with the line between strategic preparation and risk, Bad House promises a decidedly unique formula.
Bad House will arrive on PC during 2027, while further launch details will be announced soon.
