During the Summer Game Fest 2026, SEGA and RGG Studio have finally announced the release date THAN HEAVEN, the new and ambitious action-adventure of the studio author of the Like a Dragon and Judgment series. The game will come 15 January 2027 up PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming and will be available from launch via Xbox Game Pass.

After the presentation of the new trailer, the director of the studioMasayoshi Yokoyama climbed to the stage to officially confirm the date of release. The biggest surprise came soon after, when the cast of the legendary rapper was announced. Tupac Shakur, which will appear in the game through the original character of Amaru. To accompany the announcement was also Snoop Dogg, present on stage to confirm its involvement in the project. The artist will interpret the character Orpheus and also collaborated on the realization of the main theme of the game together with Ado, Tori Kelly and the composer Satoshi Fujihara, all involved also as characters within the adventure.
RGG Studio has specified that the presence of Tupac has been realized in close collaboration with Amaru Entertainment, the company that manages the artistic legacy of rapper. The study stressed that every aspect of its representation was supervised directly by the company and developed without any use of artificial intelligence, instead relying on photographs, archive footage and official documentation to recreate its appearance and scenic presence. In addition to Tupac and Snoop Dogg, the cast will also include numerous famous faces of the Japanese landscape, including Takashi Ukaji, Yasukaze Motomiya, Takaya Kuroda and Kohei Tsuji.
The plot information remains limited, but the title continues to show itself as one of the most ambitious projects ever made by RGG Studio, combining a strong narrative component with original characters and a production that clearly points to an international breath. Preorders are already open in digital and physical format. In addition to Standard and Deluxe editions, a Collector's Edition in limited quantities that will include an exclusive SteelBook, a 12-inch vinyl containing the main theme "STRANGER THAN HEAVEN" and other tracks of the soundtrack, digital bonus content and a collection package made specifically for the occasion.
