Star Wars Zero Company has finally returned to show itself with a new trailer gameplay and, above all, with an official date: the new tactical title single player set during the Cloni Wars will be available from 27 August 2026 up PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series ♪. The announcement came directly from Electronic Arts, which also confirmed the opening of pre-order on all platforms.
Developed byBit Reactor in collaboration with ♪, Star Wars Zero Company promises a more reasoned, strategic and cinematic interpretation of the Star Wars universe. An approach that, already from the first extended trailer, seems to bring in the distant galaxy a structure much closer to fans of tactical shifts that not to those looking for yet another pure action.
A new face of the Cloni Wars
The story of Star Wars Zero Company takes place in the darkest and clandestine areas of the conflict of the Clone Wars. Players will dress up Hawks, former officer of the Galactic Republic and current leader of the Zero Company, a team out of the box made up of professionals from every corner of the galaxy.
In the group we will find very different characters, including a Clone Trooper, a Mandalory of the ancient Clan Verminoth, a Jedi Padawan and other recruitable operators. Their goal will be to stop Kundri Fathom, head of worship Infinite Coil, deployed with the Separatists.
The interesting point is precisely this: instead of telling once again the great battles known to fans, Zero Company chooses to explore the war from a different angle, more hidden, dirty and tactical. It's a choice that could give the game a strong narrative identity.
Turn tactical gameplay with strong film footprint
The new trailer showed more clearly the heart of the experience: tactical combat, management of the team, use of the covers, synergies between the characters and a staging from the very cinematic cut. In other words, a plant that seems to want to combine strategic depth and narrative spectacularity.
From the operational base of the team, call ♪, players can recruit operators, grow them, enhance skills, improve structures, buy new equipment and choose the next mission through the holotable. On the battlefield, however, the links between the characters and the players created, with new support skills and cross-training bonuses that will improve team statistics and capabilities.
EA also confirmed the presence of a dynamic galactic map with over 150 planets, detail which allows a fairly large structure and a certain freedom of decision. The player's choices, in fact, can influence the way the journey will develop.
Deep customization of Hawks and operators
One of the central elements of Star Wars Zero Company will be customization. Hawks and recruited operators can be created by choosing between eight iconic Star Wars species:
- Devaronian
- Human
- ♪
- Ovissian
- Togruta
- Twi’lek
- Weequay
- Zabrak
In addition to the species, it will be possible to modify voices, dresses, general appearance, specializations and talents. A component that could be fundamental not only on the aesthetic level, but also on the tactical one, since the construction of the team and its synergies seems to be one of the pillars of experience.
Bit Reactor points up, and XCOM influence feels
Behind the project is Bit Reactor, study made up of strategic veterans and developers who have worked in the past as a series of calibers XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War and Elder Scrolls Online. Actually, this legacy is already perceived with some evidence.
Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director of Bit Reactor, explained that the team poured into Zero Company all she loves about Star Wars: strong characters, recognizable settings, powerful storytelling and a strong emotional heart behind the battles. The real goal, however, seems to be one: push forward the genre of shift tactics within one of the most important licenses of entertainment.
Lucasfilm Games also stressed that the project wants to offer a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, while remaining consistent with the franchise’s identity and is probably one of the most delicate points: to be original enough to stand out, but also sufficiently faithful to the saga’s imagination.

Along with the game, the 27 August 2026 will also be published the official soundtrack Star Wars Zero Company, distributed by Walt Disney Records and composed by Gordy Haab, author awarded to GRAMMY and already well known to fans of video games related to Star Wars.
A news that might seem secondary, but that in a production of this type is anything but marginal: the musical section can do a lot to strengthen the atmosphere, especially in a game that clearly points to tension, narrative and immersion.
The first impressions: very interesting project, but now serve confirmations
Net of brand weight, Star Wars Zero Company seems to have all the cards in order to attract the attention of a very precise niche, but extremely passionate: that of lovers of strategic shifts. And that's where you play the biggest challenge.
The Star Wars license can give enormous visibility to the project, but it can also create high and transversal expectations. Not all saga fans, in fact, are automatically interested in reasoned, slow and strongly tactical gameplay. At the same time, those who love the genre could look with great curiosity at the hand of Bit Reactor and his obvious experience.
The material shown so far is promising: solid artistic direction, credible atmosphere, a good variety of characters and above all a structure that seems to have ambition. The real question is whether the game will really find the right balance between strategic depth, accessibility and identity Star Wars.
The answer will come 27 August 2026. And, honestly, this is one of those projects that deserve to be followed carefully.
