This weekend San Francisco will become the center of the Pokémon world with PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, but The Pokémon Company has also prepared several initiatives for those who will follow the event from home, including live streaming, digital rewards and special content for Pokémon Pokopia.
Starting this weekend, Pokémon Pokopia players will be able to visit a special Nebula Island inspired by PokémonXP and Worlds 2026, designed to virtually transport the atmosphere of the San Francisco event into the game. To reach it, it will be necessary to have obtained a Mystery Visor and have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. The address of the island will be revealed during the PokémonXP live broadcast at the end of the opening ceremony.
The festivities will kick off on Friday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m., Italian time, with the opening ceremony broadcast live on Twitch and YouTube. From that moment on, the competitions and activities will continue throughout the weekend, until the closing ceremony scheduled for 04:30 on Monday, August 31, broadcast live from the Chase Center in San Francisco. In addition to the World Championships competitions, the PokémonXP program will include panel discussions and other events dedicated to the community, which can also be followed remotely.
Following the broadcasts on Twitch will also allow you to obtain various digital rewards distributed in the main Pokémon titles. The bonuses will concern Pokémon Champions, Pokémon TCG Live, Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE, offering an additional incentive to follow the competitions during the weekend. Finally, accompanying the event there will be "Ichiban", a new song chosen as the official soundtrack of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, along with a collection of original songs made to celebrate this year's challenges.
