After several years in the role of secondary figure, against the background of the adventures of Mario, Luigi and other more known faces of Nintendo, now Yoshi is ready to return as a protagonist. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is in fact a new adventure that sees the tender green dinosaur as the main character, discovering a world still unexplored.
In recent days the Kyoto colossus published a trailer that offers an overview of the next game dedicated to Yoshi, where some of the settings, various characters and abilities that players can exploit to progress in history are shown.

In Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, as the title suggests, the protagonist is flanked by Enzo, a talking encyclopedia that has lost its memory and no longer remembers anything that, once, was written between his pages. It will be Yoshi to help Enzo recover all knowledge, exploring fairy-tale and colorful places, populated by decidedly extravagant craftsmen.
A very interesting and innovative aspect immediately stands out from the trailer of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, a gameplay based a lot on discovery. To recover Enzo's memory, Yoshi will have to explore its pages, interacting with creatures to reveal their characteristics and catalog them. To do this players will have the opportunity to exploit the more iconic skills of the small dinosaur, such as the launch of eggs, the use of the language to “take” things, crash and jump. There will then be a completely new skill, i.e. Colpo di Coda, which can be used to raise the beings on Yoshi's back. Once we discover a new animal and its characteristics, we can also give him a name of our complete fantasy, or let Enzo suggest one. As new elements are discovered, the memory of the book will return and the pages will start filling. Unlocking the chapters of Enzo, Yoshi will have the possibility of immerse yourself in new scenarios and knowledge of new forms of life.
As for artistic style and atmosphere, the trailer emerges an adventure from the fairytale tone, characterized by a graphic that gives the impression to the player moving within an illustrated book. The title will support the amiibo and during the adventure we will also meet Bowser Junior and Kamek.
Let's remember Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be published next 21 May exclusive on Nintendo Switch 2.
