The Ukrainian video industry will return to the protagonist gamescom 2026 Cologne with a new edition ofUkraine Pavilion, initiative that will bring together some of the country's leading independent companies and studies to present projects, skills and services to the international community. Organized by VG Entertainment, Games Gathering and Burny Games, the pavilion wants to represent not only a commercial showcase, but also a testimony of the ability of the Ukrainian industry to continue to grow and become despite the enormous difficulties caused by war. In recent years, the field of videoludic development in Ukraine has continued its path towards greater specialization, strengthening technical skills, adopting new tools based on artificial intelligence and consolidating relations with international companies and professionals.
Ukrainian presence at gamescom will be divided into two different areas, a dedicated mainly to B2B activities and a second designed to give space to independent developers and their video games. The area Games From Ukraine, located in Hall 4.1, Booth D-011g, will host different realities of the national industry. Among these are GSC Game World, the study known worldwide for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, accompanied by Flexus, Mobihunter, Mind Studios Games, AB Games, PlayToMax and the project Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator. In parallel, Hall 10.2, Booth F-021g, will be present the independent showcase Games From Ukraine 2026, through which five studies will present their projects directly to the public and to the workers of the work. Palaye will take to Cologne Warfactory and Steel CoreWhile Smokoko present RACE: Rocket Arena Car Extreme. SolidCore Games will show Floralis, Farom Studio will be present with Age After Age and Atent Games Ltd present ATOM RPG 2.
Supporting the initiative will also be several partners, including Games Branding, AMD, MeetToMatch, Values Value, Palaye and UA Games.
Behind the participation in gamescom there is inevitably also the particular context in which Ukrainian developers continue to operate. The Ukraine Pavilion was born with the aim of keep the link between the national video industry and the rest of the world open, offering companies the opportunity to find new partners and independent developers an international showcase for their projects. Olena Lobova, Head of Strategic Partnerships by Burny Games, has emphasized how the presence at gamescom goes far beyond the simple participation in one of the main world events dedicated to video games. The goal is to show the strength, creativity and resilience of the Ukrainian industry, ensuring that studies and professionals of the country continue to be visible within the international community.
Over the years, the Pavilion has also contributed to the birth of new collaborations and business opportunities, allowing participating companies to present their work and build potentially important relationships for their future. A position shared also by Oleg Yavorskyi, Head of Business Development of VG Entertainment, which highlighted the importance of demonstrating how, despite the ongoing conflict, Ukraine remains an important pole of the video industry. Gamescom will once again offer the opportunity to present to the international public some of the projects developed in the country and attract the attention of publishers, investors and other professionals.
The 2026 edition also represents the fourth consecutive year of the initiative. A path born in one of the most difficult times for the country and continued with the intention to prevent war from isolating Ukrainian developers from the rest of the international industry.
Oleksandr Khrutskyi, founder of the Games Gathering conference, recalled this aspect, underlining that in the last four years the project has worked to maintain active communication channels between the Ukrainian community of developers and the global community. Looking at the results achieved during this particularly complex period, Khrutskyi believes that efforts have produced concrete results.
Participation in games 2026 It then becomes a showcase for new video games, an opportunity to build business relationships and a demonstration of the continuity of a sector that, while working in exceptionally difficult conditions, continues to develop new projects and to seek comparison with the international market.
