Pine Studio announced the development of Escape Simulator 2, sequel to the popular escape room game in person. This new adventure, which will be available on Steam, promises to bring the original formula to a higher level, offering unique experiences for 1-8 players. Thanks to the help of real escape room experts and the creators of the community of the first chapter, the new escape rooms gather as the most intricate and detailed ever seen in the series.

In Escape Simulator 2, players can immerse themselves in settings rich in details, solving puzzles and revealing mysteries ranging from:
- The fate of a drifting starship
- The secrets of the castle of Dracula
- The hidden location of a cursed pirate treasure
These stories, surrounded by a darker and more mysterious atmosphere than the first chapter, will allow fans to discover a more intense side of the escape room, while keeping the focus on puzzles and evocative environments, without venting into the horror.
Boris Barbir, co-founder of Pine Studio, said:
"A sequel gives us the opportunity to start from scratch and push the boundaries of the escape room genre. With Escape Simulator 2, we explored darker themes and experienced new game mechanics and puzzles. "
Among the technical improvements announced are:
- New rendering engine
- Rewritten network code for better multiplayer stability
- Improved Physics
- Fluid and realistic animations
Despite the change of tone, Barbir ensures that the game will not include horror elements like Jump scare or gore, remaining accessible to all fans of puzzles and mysteries.
Meanwhile, fans can continue to enjoy the first chapter of the series, which still receives regular updates. To celebrate the announcement of the sequel, Pine Studio released the new Mayan DLC Expansion, a series of four adventures set in the Maya jungle, currently available together with the basic game at its most discounted price ever on Steam.
