Focusing on one of the most anticipated mechanics of the title, the video provides unpublished details, along with gameplay never seen before, on the operation of the double world of Lords of the Fallen. Players will have to explore not one, but two vast environments when they adventure in the wild lands of Mournstead: Axiomthe kingdom of the living, and Umbral, the kingdom of the dead. Coexisting as two sides of the same coin, these parallel worlds each present paths, enemies, characters and, of course, unique treasures. Although it is often the player who decides which kingdom to cross, he will regularly move from one to another to progress.
In addition, the video provided new details on three of his numerous and brutal bosses, besides throwing new light on a fundamental skill of the game, the scorching of the soul, which not only allows players to interact with the soul of their enemy, but also to manipulate elements of the environment for an exploration based on puzzles.
Saul Gascon, HEXWORKS Head of Studio, said: "Consenting players to use the Umbral Lamp and switch to will from one parallel world to another, we managed to introduce completely new immersion levels in the action-RPG genre. We believe that this addition brings a refreshing touch, even if often disturbing, to its consolidated mechanics, such as the revitalized death race, the environmental narrative double layer and, of course, the tactical impact in combat. We are eager to know how players will face this brand new challenge when it arrives in October!"
Prepare then to "fall darkness" Friday, October 13th, when Lords of the Fallen will be launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
