Dolittle - TRAILER

Robert Downey Jr. returns to the cinema after the acting farewell as Iron Man with a definitely special film: "DoLittle."

Initially the title was different and had to be called "The Journey of Doctor Dolittle" but then in August 2019 Universal Pictures announced that it was changed to the current "Dolittle".

The plot is still unclear but we can easily desume that you focus on a journey to which Dolittle must/wan participate helped by many animals with which he can talk. The reason? Personally, I think he's gonna have to save abused animals, bound or forced by man. In short, an ambassador of well-being and respect that we should all have towards every single animal, seen more and more similar to man and therefore able to experience our own emotions and even speak equally between them and to Dr. Dolittle.

The cast is definitely first order:

  • Robert Downey Jr. plays Dr. John Dolittle, a veterinarian with a particular ability to talk to animals.
  • Harry Collett plays Tommy Stubbins, the veterinarian's apprentice.
  • Antonio Banderas plays Rassouli
  • Michael Sheen plays Mudfly
  • Jim Broadbent
  • Jessie Buckley plays Queen Victoria
  • Ralph Ineson plays Arnall Stubbins
  • Kasia Smutniak
The film was supposed to appear at the cinema on 24 May 2019, but the release was postponed to 12 April 2019 to avoid competition with Avengers: Endgame (in which Robert Downey Jr. also starred).
Subsequently it was postponed even from 12 April 2019 to 17 January 2020, to avoid competition this time with Star Wars: Skywalker's ascent.
Have you noticed how many revivals? We now see more and more often, as it is right, that movies produced or managed by big companies like Universal Pictures are subject to postponements, even multiple, motivated by concomitance with other films of "thickness" coming out. Is it not that these choices are studied to appear at the cinema perhaps during the "death" period of the year and hope is perhaps a success the same? It certainly seems interesting but will it really be a nice movie to add to the whitelist? Robert Downey Jr. will still be able to transform with his acting any film into a Mr. film with the capital F? Will it be possible to confront the beloved and famous Dr. Dolittle with Eddie Murphy?
