What is KotaWorld
KotaWorld is an independent editorial magazine covering gaming, technology, and digital culture — born not from a company, not from an algorithm, but from a group of friends who, at a certain point, stopped limiting themselves to talking about what they loved and decided to do it seriously, in a structured, open, and shared way.
We are not a news outlet chasing breaking news. We are not a press release aggregator. We are something harder to find on the web today: a place where content is thought through before it’s written.
The aim is simple but ambitious — to provide honest analysis, reasoned explorations and well-argued perspectives, built with critical thought and genuine respect for those who read them.
The origins: when a passion becomes a project
At the start of 2019, after months of discussions, comparisons, and that increasingly clear sense that the web needed something different, we decided to put order to an idea we’d been cultivating for a while.
The starting point was simple: we were already talking about all this — games, tech, digital culture — every day, among ourselves, with attention and depth. Why not do it in an open space, where others could also join that conversation?
KotaWorld is the result of that choice. A project born from solid human relationships, a genuine desire to reason together, and the conviction that quality information needs time, dialogue, and editorial responsibility.
A different approach to information
The web is saturated with fast news, clickbait titles, algorithm-optimised content, and forgotten within five minutes. It’s an ecosystem that rewards speed over depth, reaction over analysis.
KotaWorld has deliberately chosen another path.
Here you'll find analyses and in-depth looks — not mere announcements. Motivated reviews, built on solid arguments — not three-line hot takes. Clear and defensible viewpoints — not the balancing act of those afraid to speak their minds.
We believe in a two-way relationship with our readers: the reader is not a passive spectator to be entertained, but an active participant in a dialogue. KotaWorld KotaWorld wants to be a real place for dialogue, where pros and cons emerge thanks also to the community’s contributions and where an opinion different from ours is welcome if it is well argued.
The team
Behind KotaWorld KotaWorld is a deliberately diverse group: an engineer, a chemistry and biology professor, a doctor, and a computer technician. Different backgrounds, different skills, different perspectives on the same subjects.
This pluralism is not accidental — it’s a choice.. Tackling complex issues through multiple perspectives allows us to avoid simplistic reductions and offers more complete, more honest, and, hopefully, more useful readings.
We’re a young project in spirit, but aware of our responsibilities. We take the content seriously. The people, a bit less so.
The KotA — Knights of the Apocalypse
Before KotaWorld, in January 2018 KotaWorld, the other half of this story was born: the KotA, Knights of the Apocalypse.
A group of friends on PC, united by a simple but surprisingly rare idea in modern gaming — PCto play together for fun. No forced competition. No toxicity. No obsession with winning at all costs.Just sessions that have always been a mix of great moments, memorable mistakes and shared laughter.
Over time, this philosophy has found its home on Discord, transforming into an open space for anyone who shares the same approach to gaming.
The origin of the name
The name Knights of the Apocalypse wasn't the result of a brainstorming session or a strategic meeting. It arrived in the best possible way: spontaneously, during a gaming evening.
In quattro — Eugenio (Eughenos), Lorenzo (War/Nigio), Romeo (Stain) e Joey (Masparx) — ci siamo ritrovati a funzionare sorprendentemente bene come squadra su PUBG. Essendo in quattro, il riferimento ai Cavalieri dell'Apocalisse è arrivato naturale. Un nome che non rappresenta un team nel senso competitivo del termine, ma uno spirito: affrontare le cose insieme, senza prendersi troppo sul serio.
An open and international community
Over time, the Discord server for KotA has grown to become more than just a place to organise gaming sessions. It has become.
Alongside the Italian core live German, Portuguese, South American, and many other nationalities. Different languages, different time zones, diverse cultures — united by the same passion for gaming and by something even rarer: the desire to get along well together.
The KotA philosophy
We don’t have a 12-page rulebook. We don’t have conduct codes with subsections and appendices. We’re asking for three things: mutual respect, conscious use of shared spaces and common sense.
The fundamental principle is simple: if you see someone playing your own game, join the chat and have fun.
The KotA are not an exclusive club with access criteria or internal hierarchies. They’re an open house. Come whenever you like.
