The Tarnishing of Juxtia (for italophons: the indexing of Juxtia) is anything but a fiery game. If the title wants to squeeze an eye on the “tarnished” of soulliana memory, the game itself follows to wheel and proposes the classic mechanics type: arrive-al-checkpoint-e-curati-ma-sappi-che-respawnneranno-all-i-nemic or level-con-le-anime-che-taking-dai-nemic-morti.
In short, the yet soulslike? No. Although I admit it is now meta meta do games that trench, retry and repack “collaudate” mechanics in relatively new contexts, developers of Actual Nerds they have succeeded in what a few so far can say of having done: bringing a breath of freshness (absolutely necessary given the season) in an alternatively stable context.

So here comes a 2D platformer with pixellosa graphics (what else if not!? Now you should know my tastes as a delicious dolphin...) and very well cared for, which makes the title really immersive and pleasant to the eyes. Beautiful landscapes, vibrant colors but not too much, music suitable for atmospheres... I mean, I have to congratulate the team of Actual Nerds, because the work that they did is really remarkable. I have spent several hours playing on TToJ without ever getting tired of curses to the various bosses (which should be said – NOT – are impossible as those of the various soulslike, but are still at a challenging but challenging level of difficulty) and concentration on timing to press the right buttons at the right time.

Timing is one of the keywords of the gameplay: being an action platformer, TToJ adduce circular saws, plasma cannons, platforms that crumble to the passage etc... fighting are just a part of the fun.

Worthy of note is also the system of clean and intuitive commands, not “strap” with two hundred million keys to use skills or objects that do not feel the need. Little painful note is ahimé the absence of tutorials, unfortunately also daughter of the soulslike genre. For charity, the game is not difficult to understand, but there are a couple of rather “obscure” mechanisms such as the energy rush or the stem of the enemies who struggle to understand immediately. The history is also not attractive, but all in all without a particular thickness, the game is very enjoyable as it is.
The cost is higher than average (22,69€ today) with a assessment Steam rather mediocre but I do not share. True, the game could be “longed” a bit (the longevity is not its strong), but all in all The Tarnishing of Juxtia is a great title, which deserves a positive KotA (va, che giocone di parole che offers you Noldor... Positive note, positive KotA... Vabbé, me go a fa na limonata, that the heat is giving me to the head. Good for everyone!).
