Paramount Pictures and Activision Blizzard announce key details for Call of Duty live-action film

After years of voices and indiscretions, Paramount and Blizzard have finally unveiled the first concrete details on the live-action film Call of Duty, film adaptation of one of the most popular and profitable video games ever.

The output in the rooms is fixed for the 30 June 2028, with the stated goal of turning the famous shooter franchise into a new action blockbuster for the big screen. To the direction we find Peter Berg, author already known for high intensity films such as Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon. Berg will also sign the script along with Taylor Sheridan, a name of enormous weight in the contemporary landscape thanks to productions such as Yellowstone, Sicario and Hell or High Water. The combination between the two lets us guess a project that will focus not only on spectacular action, but also on a more adult, realistic and military narrative component, perfectly in line with the historical identity of Call of Duty.

The production team will also include prominent names such as David Glasser and Rob Kostich, with Activision Blizzard directly involved in development to ensure fidelity to the original material. According to what emerged, the film will be distributed globally by Paramount and will aim to conquer both historical saga fans and a completely new audience, further expanding the brand's universe.

The numbers behind Call of Duty explain the importance of the operation well: the franchise has exceeded a billion registered players and generated over 35 billion dollars of revenuesbecoming one of the most powerful intellectual property in the history of entertainment.
